The open world free roaming mixed with knockout tour add enough variety to the point I couldn't really stop playing.
You do a P Switch challenge, turn a corner and another pops up, then another and another. So it's hard to put down.
And then when I'm getting bored it throws some inventive or visually appealing moment that makes you feel all warm inside.
And the music... godamn hits you right in the nostalgia laden heart. When you hear an old favourite tune re-orchestrated the memories flood back.
Also been playing Cyberpunk, finally got my car. Really somewhat surreal and ludicrous feeling playing this on a 1cm thick device.
It looks and runs so much better than I expected, really eye popping at times, especially when you look around the city and realise you can explore most of these places.
Also tried the Links Awakening and Splatoon 3 update, very nice, Nintendo has patched most updates at what looks like 4k.
It's probably less and then being upscaled but looks great regardless.
Tried Xenoblade 2 in the heaviest area and the resolution and frame rate was solid. Game really needs to have a higher resolution cap though.
If I've been playing MKW in 1080p I would have never known. I should check.
I also had a great MKW session. I have unlocked all of the characters except for one that you randomly get. I believe I need about three more vehicles to consider that complete.
I tried playing as a few and no new outfits seem to unlock.
Cyberpunk doesn't let you save when you want, kinda annoying.
No side characters have alternate outfits.
"Most ports rely on email threads and fortnightly check-ins. CD Projekt Red tried something different: they embedded two engineers at Nintendo’s Kyoto campus and hosted a Nintendo GPU architect in Warsaw for six months."
What's worse is that my stalwart choice in MK8 has now been relegated to a side character with no outfits. Poor dry bones.
“Switch 2 screen is nearly indestructible claims YouTuber. After smacking it 50 times with pliers.”
Did he try a stapler?
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is now 60fps and the resolution remains quite high. You have to uncap the framerate in the options.
Road 96 Mile 0 is now close to a locked framerate, with the occasional frame drop here and there, it used to be very bad.
EDIT: Mudrunner is 60fps so awesome.
They even had this watering hole geyser packed with animals you have to skirt around.
My son wanted to try Gameshare and apparently there are some Switch1 games that support it. Played a few minutes of Mario Odyssey like this and while it's not a fun game to play in coop, it's impressive to behold. There's a small banner on top of the image to show you're running Gameschare, but that's it.
Very cool, the grenades were on the R button and I kept unleashing grenades by mistake. Also found it hard to click in the left stick while pressing it forward.
Easily swapped both but now the problem I have is that when I want to us L and R to switch menu tabs I have to click the left stick in for R.

Everyone's avoiding game key cards?
Well Bravely Default and Street Fighter 6 are Game Key Cards. People could be just buying them straight up digitally though so hard to say. Mario Kart World is a pack in so that’s expected to be on top. Most of the other stuff is pretty cheap like the Zelda upgrade packs and Welcome Tour.
This weekend I spent some time in the World of Mario Kart. I also spent many, many hours in Hyrule. Probably about eight hours just today playing Tears of the Kingdom. I just finished the Water Temple.
This weekend I went back to playing both Super Mario RPG Remake and Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Finished them both. Excellent games.
I've been playing Mario Kart World with the family and have also delved into FAST Fusion. The Fusion mechanic, which basically lets you combine 2 vehicles into a new one with superior stats, is pretty nifty. It doesn't really impact minute to minute gameplay, but it gives a nice overarching motivation to keep playing and trying out new 'fusions'. I was surprised by the limited amount of tracks, with only 12 tracks available. FAST RMX features 36 tracks, altough I can't remember how many of those were added later as DLC. Still, the game feels rather slim now and I don't think that the pull of the fusion mechanic will be enough to keep me replaying those same 12 tracks long enough to really experiment with the fusion mechanic. A bit of a shame that.
After Raven posted that video about 120hz mode on Switch 2, I also saw a video by RGT on YouTube about SF6.
So I tested it myself in various games.
Mario Kart World displays at 1440p regardless on whether you have 120hz toggled on.
But Streetfighter 6 displays at 1080p if 120hz is toggled on in the Switch 2 display settings. When I turned if off and returned to the game it was 4k and looked almost identical to the ps5 version.
It's possible all the previous Switch 2 footage we've seen was 1080p output without realising it.
I tried Cyberpunk and with 120hz mode on it displays at 1080p and looked great I thought. When I toggled off 120hz, it displays at 1440p and looks much better.
I don't get it because sf6 and Cyberpunk don't have 120hz modes.
Need to test fast fusion.
