My Switch play has been virtually nonexistent this year.

Top 3 games played are all less then an hour.

1. Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door

2. F-Zero 99

3. Nintendo Entertainment System Online

I checked and clocked a very sane 200 something hours. Non switch gametime was nearly nonexistant this year.

When it says I played 95 games it's because when I buy a cheap game I always check it out for 5 or 10 mins to see what it's like.

My backlog is huge. Games are so cheap on the eshop I buy 5 at a time usually.

Just bought Doom 2016, I held off for ages but the motion controls in Duke Nukem reminded me that gyro controls make everything better.

You guys tried the Kunai demo yet?

You play as a robot Ninja in a metroidvania. I loved the demo and just saw a NWR video review.

They say it rivals Ori and the Blind Forest.

I return with news:

Akane is this 1 USD arena action game like smash tv but with swords and blood.

It's perfect for just jumping straight into and seeing how far you'll go.

Doom seems decent, I only played it portable so far so it's a bit blurry. Runs well though and motion controls are great.

Still not sold on this push forward gimmick. You basically walk up to every enemy and click the stick for a kill.

I prefer Goldeneye style fps over Doom or COD like gameplay.

Kunai seems excellent so far, they put a lot of care into this game, it's set in the future, you're a robot experiment found by a resistance group. They seem to have gone into the game world to build a tangible sense of setting and lore.

So I'm worried this isn't going to last long, but today I got Dragon Force working on my Saturn emulator. I've been wanting to play this for almost 30 years, so I'm looking forward to finally checking it out.

Haven’t played that since back when it initially came out. Seem to recall enjoying it back then. Been a long time though.

Years ago I saw it listed as one of the best Saturn games ever made, but even just after the console was put out to pasture it was hard to find and super expensive. Very curious to see how well it holds up today.

I haven't checked my email but it would be mostly Balatro and Zelda, that's about it. PC was my main hours getter.

So I have been playing Shadow Generations and holy shit it's the best controlling 3D Sonic ever, I don't know what they did but it feels so good. The boost formula perfected, the levels are incredible as well, as good as anything in Unleashed/generations. And the small hub world is way more interesting than anything in Frontiers. They do know how to do amazing 3D levels, couldn't tell you that after forces and frontiers. I really hope the next sonic game uses everything they did in this.

Happy new year from Australia. We are a quarter way through this century. I'll be long gone when it clicks over to 2100. My daughter will be in her early 80's 😢

I saw a interview where SEGA said they were disappointed with it. But the way it was said, i wasn't sure if the dwv was unhappy with the game or unhappy that they made wanted changes and the fan base or sales didn't live up to what they wanted.

Doom is more like Halo now, I approve.

I don't like that you can't reload your weapons. I like the animation of reloading and the way you have to choose when to reload tactically in most fps.

Visually it's not bad, it's soft but it's smooth AF.

Mclassic makes it sharper, but boots the colour so much I have to alter the gamma.

Motion controls work well. Is there a sniper rifle in this game?

I owned a copy. One of the few games I sold later for a profit. It's a cool game but didn't click with me at the time.

My favorite Saturn RPG is Shining of the Holy Ark.

Doom 2016 would be a much slower game if it had weapon reloading. I like that it doesn't and let's you just fire like crazy.

Vortex Rifle is the sniper rifle in the game. You can also get a tactical scope upgrade for your assault rifle early on which works similar to a sniper rifle too.
