Apart from Mario Odyssey, all the Switch 1 games I tested portable.
Links Awakening and Mario Odyssey which have switch 2 patches look great.
Otherwise, all the switch 1 games haven't been patched and render at their original portable screen resolution.
On the switch 2 LCD screen they all look worse, there's colour loss, it's blurrier. I even tried 2D games like Miles Edgeworth investigations and it looked bad enough compared to the OLED screen that I just don't want to play it that way.
All these games will look the same, if not better docked on the tv. There won't be the difference there compared to how they originally looked.
But offscreen, unpatched switch 1 games look worse than on the OLED.
I really like exploring Mario Kart World in free roam looking for those P blocks and doing the missions, looking for the Peach coins, looking for the ? blocks, etc. The water physics are great and it’s quite fun driving on the water.
Looking forward to trying a bunch of my Switch 1 games on the Switch 2 as well. Got a bunch in my backlog that I haven’t played through fully yet.
So apparently Monolith Soft helped in the development of Mario Kart World. Not surprised.
Really strange when you look at the history of Monolithsoft and their early switch games. How they've become pivotal to help in Nintendo games and open world games too.For sure. They’re such an immensely talented developer.
I don't usually bounce between games. Just wasn't enjoying X2 as much as I had hoped and got distracted.
Good news people! Advance Wars seems to have broken my apathy towards gaming! I'm currenlty about halfway the first game's campaign and am enjoying it a lot. The original is still the better game, with better artwork, more charm, and no saturday morning cartoon voicework (seriously, you can recognize the performers from their work on well known cartoons). At least the Dutch translation is pretty good. And the gameplay is still as good as it was nearly 25 years ago when the series first hit the GBA.
And the gaming gods rejoice!
Man, what a week this has/will be for gaming. Had the Sony State of Play, Switch 2 launch, Summer Game Fest tonight, and Microsoft show on Sunday. Gaming Christmas in June!

That’ll probably be one of my next purchases in the near future. The one for the Switch 1 is a fantastic controller.
I agree with that. I know I didn't spend a lot of time with my switch, but the pro controller was awesome. Without that, I doubt I would have even spent as much time with the switch as I did.
It had a excellent battery life as well.
I wouldn't buy one but I am currently without my Switch 1 pro controller and I really miss it.
Anyone have joycons that are running low on battery power at a fast rate? Maybe my two didn't charge completely last night.
Yeah and that Kimetsugami game.They usually discount their games quite decently, so I imagine it will be half that within a year or less.
Apparently the charging grip has those extra back buttons.
Everyone hits the wall around 13 to 16 hours.And I had to watch a couple of combat explained videos. Once it clicked it was fun all the way. And X3, really to get the full meaning you have to have played 1 and 2.
It's still its own thing but prior knowledge of past events boosts your enjoyment to max.
I have an old set that discharge faster than the Splatoon oled ones I have. But they still last ages.
