I'm thinking it will be lucky to sell half of S1, which is still pretty darn good.
I think it'll do better than that. I'm actually expecting it to follow the track of the Super Nintendo, which worldwide sold 80% of what the NES did. Even that might be a little generous, but I still think with Microsoft effectively leaving the market, Nintendo can still get around 75% of the Switch's sales for the Switch 2.
They found a 4k reference in the code but no word on Switch 2 enhancements.

So the Oblivion remake looks just like Skyrim? The lack of bloom is disturbing. I'll stick the the original. I liked that Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim all had their own unique look.
Looks great to me. I loved the game but hope they fix the repetitive towers in the hellworld. Those became chores.
Oh God and that vampires curse thing that wrecked me.
The EG community is pretty welcoming, there's hardly ever any truely heated discussion going on, it's always very civil. Their pool of frequent commenters is also smaller than you'd think.
As for comparing the Switch2 to current gen systems, the numbers are clear. Switch2 is weaker than even the Series S. Sure, it's more modern silicon, but that doesn't mean that those new systems are a free lunch. Digital Foundry built a PC similarly specced to Switch 2 and DLSS alliasing would take 9ms on Switch2, which is too high to be practically usefull as that's over a quarter of the time needed to render 30fps. I'd rather trust numbers than average Joe's eyes. Developers have become very good at fooling us with all kinds of trickery to fake better graphics.
Yeah that laptop he simulated games on was nothing like the actual hardware. He blatantly made some hard statements and predictions and then backtracked and is being proven wrong quite badly.
Now they are disregarding the director of Yakuza Zero when he's stating the port is 4k 60fps.
They said it wouldn't be more powerful than steamdeck. Based on teraflops alone it's twice as good.
Now they're comparing games that wouldn't run on Ps4 and saying the Switch version is what "we imagine" a ps4 version would look like. It's redactive nonsense.
Every comparison video I've seen, you can see some in the video thread, shows that the games broadly run around series S level.
The Series S can push 30% more terraflops, it's gpu is 50% faster, the RAM has twice the buswidth and the cpu is 3 times faster. And that's probably a comparision with Switch2 docked.
Edit: just saw my link states the Switch2 specs are rumoured specs only, so it might be better. Or ut might be not.
I have a feeling switch 2 won't be that hard to get. $500 is a big price for a brand that has been known as the cheaper alternative. That said underestimating scalpers is bad. We shall see, I also heard April 30 as a rumor, I'm sure we will know soon enough.

Moores Law is Dead is an Nvidia insider and talked to people who actually worked on Switch 2.
He said that it would in some cases be comparable to series S and sometimes better.
Check the comparison videos in the Switch 2 video thread. No one is saying that on paper Switch 2 is more powerful than series S.
But even. On paper it's better than the OG PlayStation 4 Digital Foundry keeps comparing it too. Ps4 is not doing 4k 60fps or 120fps games and can't even run things Switch 2 is running.
Switch 2 has a more modern architecture and has features Series S doesn't have and given the series S operating system footprint Switch 2 has access to a lot more RAM and DLSS so image quality can actually be better depending on the game. The videos prove it.
On Split Fiction you can gameshare from Switch 2 to Switch 1 players.
That's crazy.
I wonder how well this gamesharing will work. it's basically couch co-op play where instead of splitting one screen in 4, one system is streaming data to multiple 'dumb clients' It makes sense on paper, but will this also mean that everyone will only get a quarter resolution image, as you would when playing co-op on a single screen? I assume it'll only work for couch co-op games and not for something that uses online play and thus can utilize the full capacity of the hardware per player.

I think as a group we really need to be playing online together more. For me PC is the only likely way.

I thought it would send a download packet that would run independently. But yeah I would imagine switch 1 streaming would be just be video streaming.
Just watched a few bits of the Mario Kart Direct. Still not impressed. Personally I couldn't care less for more racers or the open world concept. Would have been sweet if the water segments featured actual wave physics as in WaveRace, but they're just streets with different texturing applied.
This might seem shallow, but I would have much preferred a more classic, concentrated Mario Kart experience that really showed off the visual capabilitie of the Switch2. The overall geometric detail of the world seems not much better than what was there in MK8 and texture work in general is very flat as well. In the snow stage the ice just looks blue, nothing in the way it is shaded gives it some kind of translucence or rich glitter you'd see in actual ice. I guess it's very Nintendo to prioritize gameplay over graphics though.

I want to coop with someone, but probably on ps5.

Series S can push higher framerates easily.

I love pushing terraflops. All night long...
It's been known for years that it's not about how many terraflops you can push, but how you utilize them.
All night long...all night.
GG, are you going to get Cyberpunk?
No story mode or bosses so far. The open world freely roaming has missions, challenges and collectibles.
Hope they add some story mode dlc.
Playing locally with 2 people per switch screen is cool. I can imagine people at work/school/college will have fun lunchtimes.
I thought it would send a download packet that would run independently. But yeah I would imagine switch 1 streaming would be just be video streaming.
I just love Bladerunner like environments.
I get what you're saying, at first it wasn't even marked as an advert, but they fixed it.
Have to say, I didn't have a lot of interest in replaying open world games, but the improvements shown might get me engaged again.
