I've been playing Super Mario Land (GB/NSO) today. I swear this came from an alternate universe. It's such an odd Mario game. Koopa shells that explode, fire flower shots that bounce into the stratosphere, horizontal shooter levels. Madness. It's still a lot of fun. I wish the controls weren't so stiff, though. Stiff controls seems to be common on GB games.

I started playing this again after reading your post.

The game is a lot of fun, similar to the mechanics of Re7 and 8. It also has an old school save and mansion which has been great to explore. I'm very impressed with the visuals. Hair especially looks good with individual strands and not just matted mops on people's heads.

What version are you playing?

Bloomberg: Bluepoint proposed Bloodborne remake, FromSoftware rejected

28.02.26 - Bluepoint Games submitted a proposal for a remake of Bloodborne (PS4) at the beginning of 2025, but failed. This is reported by Bloomberg, citing people familiar with the process.

Although the economic figures would have spoken in favor of a new edition, FromSoftware, the studio behind the original released for the PlayStation 4 in 2015, had spoken out against the project.

Bloodborne is considered one of the most important action games of its generation. However, the initial release suffered from technical limitations such as drops in frame rate. Industry observers saw this as a suitable basis for a revision by Bluepoint, which had already reissued Demon's Souls and Shadow of the Colossus. Within the studio, the idea was at times concretely tested, but never reached the production phase.

Former PlayStation manager Shuhei Yoshida already expressed the suspicion last year that FromSoftware President Hidetaka Miyazaki might find a new edition interesting in principle, but did not want to give up the project. Sony apparently respects this attitude, although the company holds the rights to thebrand.

Read this on resetera:

[I never played an AC before New Horizons came out so I bought the game during the Pandemic and after a few month of paying, I put it on the shelf and forgot about it.

My island was crappy. No much going on beside I spent most of my time growing all types of flowers and collecting fossils. Never bothered with the updates and DLCs until the Switch 2 version came out.

Since it was free for Nintendo Online Members I decided to do the hotel dlc which I did in a week. After that I went to the Happy Home Paradise DLC and couldn't stop making vacation homes and facilities since I now have a lot of to play with, unlike my island which I didn't have much DIY recipes in my catalog.

Now I can't stop!! Every night I will travel to treasure islands and grab a bunch of DIY recipes, furniture, materials, etc for my island. Now I'm in the process of completely re-arranging my island with customs path designs I have been grabbing and watching videos from YouTube about island design tips.]

Lol

My problem is that lost several Nintendo accounts for fake people I used to own more houses in Animal Crossing. Now I have 4 houses where I cant actually mess with anymore.

And if I delete the user on Animal Crossing itself, I lose the whole house and all items.

Really like Call of Juarez Gunslinger.

I think they should have followed up on this making an open world Bethesda style game but retaining the wild West setting and shooting mechanics. It could be a first person RDR

I bought PS1 Ridge Racer on PS5 a few weeks ago. I remembered you could unlock additional cars if you could shoot all of the Galaxians on the loading screen mini game. I finally shot them all this afternoon and unlocked all 8 additional cars. So much fun driving them. PS5 has save states for PS1 games, so they're unlocked permanently too. Happy

REquiem is pretty damn fantastic. Really loving the two different gameplay types and the visuals really are quite stunning at times. Theres a boss fight with Leon that was jaw dropping with the lighting effects. How did Capcom pull this off on the Switch 2? I haven't played it on portable, only docked.

I am reading reports of jaggies (maybe a few) and sub 30 framerate and I am not seeing that at all.

Have you considered glasses? 😋

In all seriousness, I am tempted to get the game on Switch2 as well. I'm not a horror fan though. Did play RE4 back in the day, but that's it.

Capcom always does good visuals. RE Revelations 2 visual quality on Switch was top tier. They used some kind of checkerboard upscaling but it was only noticeable in a couple of instances. I believe DF said Re9 on portable mode has checkerboarding.

The Leon sections are way too short. I get excited because he does these cool things then it's over.

Sad.

I beat Call of Juarez and immediately started a new game plus. It's very arcade like and feels great with gyro aiming.

I hate the duals as they control like shit and a few trapped setpieces are annoying. Otherwise great fun, reminds me of Medal of Honour Front Line.

Finished it last night, game is amazing, easy 9/10 +. I was shocked to find that I found the Grace sections to be much better. Honestly if the game was all Grace it might have given RE:2 a run for its money as the best classic style RE game, her sections are that good. The way this game keeps the pressure on with not just stalkers but creative zombies and situations. I thought the limited gun selection and focus on stealth would hurt but it's done in such a way that it compliments every facet of classic RE strategy with item management and hallway clearing. It's some of the best classic formula stuff out there, it's just not a full game.

Leon's sections were clearly a step down from 4, they just aren't as creative or have the same energy. The large exploration section just didn't offer enough things to do for how long the section lasted. Don't get me wrong there are some very creative moments but the majority of the standard combat is pretty basic, basic enemies, basic layout. 9's encounter design has more in common with RE6 than 4, in that it's not so much how will this room be different in layout and strategy but more oh some weird shit is going to happen here and you just shoot everything that comes at you.

But I loved the surprise gameplay moments. The crazy fan service. The bosses (except for the last) are top notch. The story is fun even if it is the rise of Skywalker of RE stories. It's a great time.

Need to replay it more times to see where I would rank it finally. And I will do a much bigger deep dive later.

This weekend it’s been all Resident Evil Requiem. I’m a little over halfway through my first playthrough and am thoroughly enjoying the game.

I find it hard to stop playing. Ok, now we are getting a lengthy Leon segment and it is so good. Artillery firing zombies? Yep.

Did a bunch of streaming this weekend. Mario Land 3: WarioLand, Snoopy's Grand Adventure and Yoshi's Wooly World. It didn't do any serious dives and anything new though. Probably should get back to my backlog one of these days, and at least go finish Once Upon a Katamari.

Emulator. I'm actually playing Mario Land 3 DX, a fan patched version where they gave the game a full color palette. It makes it much easier on the eyes.
