NateDrake says the company “will be porting and patching the current Switch lineup.” Grounded, Pentiment, and the Ori games, which were previously associated with Xbox, are already on the current Nintendo Switch. However, it also looks like they’ll be on Nintendo Switch 2 with 4K support. Sea of Thieves and Hi-Fi Rush could be possible as well – they’re already on PS5, so Nintendo Switch 2 versions make sense.

Hopefully they offer a free upgrade for my copy of Doom.
If Switch 2 will be getting the Halo series and FromSoft's games, that will go a long way to deciding my next console for me, if I only decide to get one console next gen. I doubt any FromSoft games except the Elden Rings and possibly AC6 would be ported, though.
Also, Yoda (do you still go by this?), is there an issue with password reset emails? I got the indication that a password reset email would be sent so I could log in to my old Angry_Beaver account, but the email never arrived at the address I entered.
Yoda still works to preserve some continuity I haven't really had the time or energy to spend working on this place in a long time so I'm not surprised there are some rough edges decaying. The hosting provider probably blocks the standard mail port now. I've sent you a DM with details to access your account.

Halo and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth coming to Switch 2 claims insider
Microsofts biggest IP is going multiplatform according to an insider, as more leaks about third party support for the Nintendo Switch 2.
Leaks around Nintendo’s next console have accelerated to a daily occurrence over the past month and while this has been predominantly concerned with the hardware, more information has started to emerge about Switch 2 software as well.
Some third party games have seemingly been outed via a French retailer, with Tekken 8 and Red Dead Redemption 2 both touted as potential launch titles, but it seems Microsoft might also be planning to support the console in a significant capacity.
Microsoft has already strongly pivoted towards multi-platform releases, with Indiana Jones And The Great Circle and Doom: The Dark Ages set to come to PlayStation 5 this year, but an insider claims Halo: The Master Chief Collection is also planned for various platforms, including Switch 2.
Speaking on his podcast, insider NateTheHate, who was key in outing Xbox’s multi-platform plans last year, claimed he has ‘heard’ Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Microsoft Flight Simulator (he doesn’t specify which game, but presumably 2024) will both come to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025.
Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer recently said there are no ‘red lines’ when it comes to putting first party games on other formats, opening the possibility for Halo coming to other consoles, but it will still be a significant announcement if it does turn out to be true.
NateTheHate doesn’t stop there either. Outside of Microsoft, he claims Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will come to Xbox in 2025 and 2026, respectively, adding: ‘The games will also be coming to Nintendo Switch 2’.
While he’s confident these ports exists, he’s uncertain as to when they will be announced, suggesting Microsoft’s upcoming Developer Direct on January 23 as a possibility.
Ports of Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth have been rumoured for a long time on Xbox, with both seemingly bound by limited time console exclusivity deals on PlayStation. Square Enix has recently spoken about its new multiplatform plans though, following sales of Rebirth falling below expectations, so this would fall in line with that new strategy.
Following these rumours, Windows Central’s Jez Corden has claimed ‘way more’ Microsoft games are planned for PlayStation 5 and Switch 2.
While Microsoft hasn’t made any official announcement, a remaster or remake of Oblivion has been rumoured for some time, following a leak back in 2023. Last month, several insiders claimed the revamped Oblivion would launch this year, with a possible reveal in January.
On his podcast, NateTheHate has now claimed Oblivion ‘will be coming out in 2025 and it’s currently slated to release in the month of June’. However, he’s unclear if it will appear at the upcoming Developer Direct, pointing instead to the game’s anniversary on March 20 as a possible reveal date.
Microsoft has confirmed its upcoming presentation will feature Doom: The Dark Ages, South By Midnight from Compulsion Games, Clair Obscura: Expedition 33, and an unknown mystery game. Only South By Midnight is currently exclusive to Xbox Series X/S and PC, with the other two also confirmed for PlayStation 5.
As spotted by users on Reddit known leaker 'Average Lucia Fanatic' shared what they had heard about the upcoming Switch 2 release plans, posting on Discord that "launch day is March 3rd."
They also shared they had heard the console will be revealed on Friday, January 17 and will retail for $400 Canadian (around $300 USD).
Additionally, the leaker mentioned potential games coming to the console as a part of its launch lineup. Recent speculation has pointed to the likes of Metroid Prime 4 being one of the Switch 2's big launch titles, but Average Lucia Fanatic seems to think otherwise.
They posited that the launch titles will be the unannounced Mario Kart 9, Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2, as well as a new 3D Mario platformer:
"17th January 2025. Launch day is March 3rd. Launch titles are 'Mario Kart 9,' 'Red Dead Redemption 2' and an announcement trailer for a 3D
Mario. Retail price in Canada is $400."
Average Lucia Fanatic does not have the longest track record in terms of hardware leaks, but what has raised some eyebrows is how they accurately predicted information about the PS5 Pro in late 2024, including its eventual exact release date.
This has led some to believe that they may be well connected and this Switch 2 info is real. And if very well could be.

I played Skyrim on Switch, it was an excellent port. I regret selling it.
I never got to try the anniversary edition updates. We're they any good?

Not at present.

Hmm, would I buy RDR2 again to play it on the go? I probably will.
I have to say, Beaver of Anger has a nice ring to it. You read that, and you can't help but assume that's a really important Beaver.
Beaver usually provides good value.
I’m really hoping that Nintendo implement some sort of universal Achievement/Trophy system with the Switch 2.
Funy thing was I was thinking about you on Monday. Good to see you. I'll go google some beaver gifs to insert here...
