Well good news for me. We dodged another bullet. Didn't lose our power, and there doesn't seem to be any serious damage to the house. I had a vacation scheduled for today, and that's been canceled. That said, I guess I'll just take advantage of my PTO and play a game.
It seems to be a tradition for me to buy a game right before a hurricane. I bought the Arkham Collection acfew years back and Zelda this year.

Glad to see you are good. Not much happened, yeah wind and rain, trees and junk are around but everything is intact and I have power. Tampa itself avoided the doomsday scenario, very lucky.
So right before the storm I bought Sileng Hill 2 and I am blown away at how good it is. I am not a SH2 fan, I find the original to be a boring slog. This version actually cares to make enemies dangerous, it creates rooms and setpieces to lock you into scary combat situations, the feeling of survival is there where in the original I felt it wasn't. This is might be as good a remake as the RE ones are, elevating the game to something even more. Honestly if it keeps up this might be the best SH game.

Good to hear my Floridians. I think if I lied in the States still at this stage I would have moved to Arizona or New Mexico, but still would be drawn to the South or Florida. The state I live in Australia is probably mostly like Florida than any other state, at least the coast. Most of it is desert.

I read a comment on YT a while back that described Australia as 10% populated, 30% Jurassic PArk, 60% Arrakis, lol.
It strips back something like a civilization builder into the most basic of functions. And yet still manages to be thoughtful and strategic.
All you do is throw coins at things you want to build, but all your choices matter.
You have to balance defence vs the monsters vs farming and wall building. It's effortlessly simple and confident in what it's doing. When the other Kingdom games come down in price I'll get them.
I don't get the calogen lip look. Everytime I see someone with them I think they look like a #$%&ing #@$%#@. Its not attractive to look like you have a constant pout. Am I alone on this?
This weekend I've been kicking up mud and sqealing tires playing Dirt 5, Sega Rally Revo, Ridge Racer 1, Ridge Racer 4, Daytona USA HD and Gran Turismo 7.
It’s Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada. Been playing Resident Evil 7. Already played through it on the Xbox One but bought the PS5 version on sale recently and played through that version. Pretty enjoyable game and October is prime time for a game like that.

I keep forgetting it's spooky month. I need a Halloween themed racing game.
I spent my weekend with Cult of the Lamb, and since my impressions were asked about it, here's the first round.
Without going into full detail I'll say that the game is pretty good, but fall short of being great. At least that's what I'm feeling so far after about 6 hours.
The main gameplay loop is solid. You basically fight in dungeons to gather resources and new followers. Then you go back to your village. And run that in order to build everyone's faith in you. And then you use that Faith to make the lamb stronger so that he can progress further into the dungeons.
However, the combat's a little fast and loose. That definitely could have been better. And in the village, they kind of go the Animal Crossing route. You have to check in with all of your followers to see what their mood is. At my point of the game that hovers around 8 to 10, and with the speed that the days move, that can get a little overwhelming while you still try to do things like preach your sermons, develop buildings, cook, etc. I've heard that stuff gets easier later in the game, but at the moment it's actually kind of stressful.
The game is also really fucking dark too. Like if the characters weren't cute and cuddly Forest animals, there would be some major problems here. For instance, when one of your followers starts to descend and lose their faith, the basic process is you have to lock them into a prison, and then re-educate them over the course of several days. You can also choose to sacrifice them.
Oh, and when someone dies, you can choose to bury them, or you could decide that meat shouldn't go to waste and feed their bodies to the other followers. So yeah... Unfortunately, these are cute animals so they kind of get away with it.

Humble brag
How can paracetomol be abused that they would require ID for a purchase? Our commonwealth countries have become beyond Nanny States.
It is Tylenol. Sudafed can be made into something more entertaining. Tylenol though?

I only bought 1 box.

That's about right, but not as populated.

Will you be getting a Steam Deck, Aspro? Crazy how long it took to get there.
