Exactly. PC + Nintendo is looking like the future for me as well.
That was what I was looking for but your insights are valuable to me nonetheless. Hamster has a huge range of Neo Geo and arcade ports on Switch.
Probably the same price. The PS3 was released at $600 in 2006.
I thought I had a couple NeoGeo beat 'em ups on Switch but all I have are run 'n gun shooters; Metal Slug, Nam-1975, Ninja Commando, Shock Troopers 1 and Ikari Warriors. Top Hunter and Puzzle Bobble are great fun too. I need to get some beat 'em ups too since I remember having fun with those in the NeoGeo multi arcade like Robot Army. I never own a real NeoGeo. I wanted one though.
According to an article I just read, adjusted for inflation, the PS3 would have been launched at $925. Of course, that system came with a disk drive and you could position it vertically at no additional charge. Still, if you do the full apples to apples comparison, the PS3 would be $925 to the pro which would be probably around $800 fully loaded.
So, it is still cheaper than the PS3 at launch. But I suppose whenever you start comparing things to the PS3's launch price, you're still in the realm of, "wow that's expensive."
Sony has confirmed that the price for the PS5 Pro in Canada will be $960. The disc drive here costs $100 and the stand is $40. After taxes that’ll bring the total to $1,243. Yikes!
Richard on Digital Foundry mentioned earlier this week that he believes console gaming will contine for a long time to come but it'll likely only be Nintendo still releasing them at some point. He said this days before the PS5 Pro pricing was revealed.
Eurogamer has a good article on the pricing as well. They argue that inflation paints a skewed picture, as most people's income hasn't scaled with the high inflation of the last few years.
I'd find that hard to believe. Would make it their most expensive piece of hardware since the N64 if I recall correctly.
N64 launched for $200 here. N64 games, on the other hand, were damned expensive at launch around $80.
Lol forgot about that.
I want Shock Troopers and the Metal Slugs.
It costs even more in Europe. $1000 USD equivalent. For everything.
So now the question is how much you're willing to pay for technological advancement aka better graphics.
If they can't produce generational leaps in a semi-afforadable manner, or spend the millions for game development, what's next? I guess AI can aid game development but how do you get the cost of state of the art components down?
OLED is still £330.
So £400 I reckon. Max $450?
Reveal in 1 to 6 weeks.
Yeah, Sony and MS can't keep secrets for shit. Nintendo's legal ninjas has most people in the know too scared to say anything.
Eh, I don't know. We've known what processor the Switch2 will use for quite some time now, and that it will be a similar design to that of the original Switch. Aside from the mandatory extra gimmick here and there, what more is there to know about the hardware?
I've played it. It's the kind of game I think about after I finish playing. I suppose it's hard to say much about it if I don't want to ruin any surprises. I like the time loop and especially all the historical details.
