Tried the Epic Mickey Rebrushed demo on the PS5 and I quite dig it. Never played these games before.

It's interesting that they're going this route. They're simultaneously looking very desperate, and at the same time sticking it to the mom and pop stores one more time. Retro gaming was the one area that some of these stores could survive specifically because GameStop wasn't in the market. And now they're going to probably screw that up.

Just checked, I have over 300 switch games.

This doesn't include Collection, games like Contra etc.

No one else started watching the YouTube sales videos and got a massive SD card?

I'm straddling the line between physical and digital and having so many games, mostly always availible on board the console, I've come to appreciate the benefits of digital games.

The prices can be ridiculously low, which has enabled me to play so many more titles than I would have been able too.

I'm really sold on Star Wars Outlaws, even with my limited time with the game. I hate playing it in fifteen minutes increments. I just want to explore these cities for hours. The game is giving me Mass Effect vibes.

Yeah, while I do have a preference for getting my games on physical I do really appreciate the convenience of digital.

With the prices of digital games, it's really hard not to get pulled in. I don't think I've paid more than $10 for a game this year, because I've just watched what goes on sale.

I don't think I'm ever going to fully digital though. At least not while it remains an option.

I’ve even purchased some games digitally even though I already have the physical version if they go on sale cheap enough. Worth it just for the convenience.

I find that digital is more convenient for the Switch due to its portable nature.  It just saves you bringing along a bunch of small carts that can then get lost.  I'll still get physical copies of first party games and games that I'm really looking forward to though.  For the Xbox I don't buy digitally.  This is of course helped by the fact that Xbox games go on sale with deep cuts very fast.

There are some games I wish I had bought digitally, just for ease of access.

Even the "effort" of grabbing a dvd and putting it into a player to watch a movie feels like too much effort compared to streaming.

When I'm in bed I can't be bothered getting up to Switch game carts.

This.

Shame a lot of games don't go lower in price, I'd double dip.

Funimation used to give you a free digital version of a bluray you bought. Gaming needs this.

I'm sad that game sizes are so huge with the newer consoles.

I only have 50gb total free with the OLED HDD and what remains of my SD cards.

It's great for indie games, but some games like Bioshock Infinite  are 20gb.

I hope switch 2 3D Nand carts pan out. They can store like 50gb or something, so it wont eat up your storage and the whole game should fit on the game cartridge.

Hopefully it will load games fast too and you won't have to load games onto the UFS storage to play games.

Digital is bad for someone like me. I hop around from game to game to game way too much when they are installed and playable with a click. I blame growing up on short play arcade and Atari games. I do like the digital for convince.

Strangely, I find physical copies of games go down in price much more frequently and sooner than digital. Guessing that stores are attempting to unload their unsold inventory. However that doesn't work for a Series S owner. Plus, Nintendo never seems to discount their titles.

I think one of the things that helps these days is that the sales cycle for games are much longer than they have ever been before. I know I've droned on a lot about Salt and Sanctuary over the past month, but let me beat that dead horse just a little bit more.

I only paid $2 for it, but the game is also 10 years old and it's still the original game that came out 10 years ago. Not a remaster, not a port, and I don't even think the game's gotten a patch or an update in 5 or 6 years. It's not a ton of money, but a halfway decent developer can count on a little extra revenue coming in year after year from games that they've probably forgotten about to some extent.

Argonaut is back from the dead, and they're remastering Croc?

I had Croc on Saturn. It was $5 new at Best Buy on clearance. I vaguely remember it being okay. Wouldn't have thought it'd ever be remastered.
