Civ 6 on Steam recently updated to remove 2k's online launcher app when booting the game, thus making it a completely offline playable game now without verification checks.

I glad to see some publishers are starting to understand that games with single player need to be playable forever. 👍

Excellent news.

PlayStation, Japanese streetwear brand SOPH and its imaginary team FC Real Bristol have teamed up for a new streetwear fashion collection based on football jerseys and training wear.

So a fashion company has a made up football team... and now they have a fake Playstation sponsership? I am struggling to keep up with this world.

Uh oh I just played the demo for Emio the Smiling man.

Now I have to buy Famicom Detective club and then Emio.

It's just like the investigation parts from the Ace Attorney series.

...

I'll have to download the demo. I'm glad this Emio reveal was for this. The reveal was so bizarre for what it ended up being.

Can someone explain to me how the Doom + Doom 2 got on my computer as I cannot find out online.

Is it because I owned the original Doom  and Doom 2 on Steam and as such they've given me a wholly new product which is the remaster called "Doom + Doom 2"?

Or is it because at some point I've bought a product called "Doom + Doom 2" and it is now been remastered?

I'm not complaining, it's absolutely brilliant, just don't know the origin story.

Ahh... just found this:
Previous owners of DOOM or DOOM II on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Epic Game Store, the Microsoft Store, Steam and Good Old Games will automatically receive the new version with a free update.

Deadpool and Wolverine was fantastic. I treated myself since the family was away today.

I love my family, but I do like the occasional day where you get to choose what you want to do and when you want to do it.

I'm slowly working my way through the Gamescom stuff. Road Craft looks interesting. I need to get back to Mudrumner too.

I thoughtought Avowed and Atomfall were the most intersting games of the show.  And Starvbreezzes' Indiana Jones.

Roadcraft looks good too. Teardown meets the simulation-craze games. The developer is a workhorse, made 80 Days of all things:

Yeah Focus and Saber are crazy.

They recently released Expeditions a Mudrunner game.

They're still doing Snowrunner dlc, for the past 4 years.

They port multiple games to switch at the same time.

They are developing other games. Now they unveil Roadcraft too.

Wukong looks great! Deserves it's sales. I'll never play it but it is fun to watch better gamers play it.

I am enjoying Final Fantasy SEX-teen so much more than Final Fantasy: Frat Bros! It's pretty serious story-wise but soooo much less depressing than 15. It could be because I appreciate the fantasy setting with Crystals and Kingdoms, more than road-trips and emo Princes...

It could also be that I one day hope to be the meat in a Clive and Cid sandwich... and with Ben Starr, there's a pretty high probability that could happen!

I'm killing time at Target as my kid does his school shopping, and it is remarkable. What a wasteland the gaming section has become here. The Switch library is still pretty strong. There's probably 70 to 80 titles available here. Pretty good. Hell, that might even be more than GameStop has these days.

For Xbox and Playstation it's a lot sadder. There's a total of 16 Xbox titles on the shelf. Playstation isn't much better. There's a little over 30 titles, but there's also some overlap between PS4 and PS5 titles.

The digital future is indeed here.

Yeah, I first noticed it in my area shortly after last Christmas that they weren't restocking the Xbox and PS games much.

I resisted a digital only future for years but during Covid I embraced it. The downside, besides the loss of the cool physical artwork, is there's nothing to trade in so that I can purchase my next game. Well, and the fact that I don't really own the game.I suppose thats not that big of a loss since I'm done collecting games anyway.
