Hasbro "Going all in" on Digital Play
CEO, ""Our goal is to be shipping one to two new games per year starting as early as late 2025"gamesindustry.biz news aspro
So am I the only one here to get the Nintendo World Championship game? Well don't be like me lol. It's no NES remix, it's just parts of the game, usually very simple goals and you have to complete it in a certain time for a good ranking. If you don't care for the ranking there is no game. It's only like 12 games, should be more, 150 challenges which is a lot but still some are pathetic like get the sword in Zelda or get the first mushroom in SMB. They do get longer and better as you get to later challenges like full stage speed runs but it is all speed runs. It is neat to learn new strategies on these old games so I am having fun playing it but man this is a lacking game.
The problem is the world championship mode, you'd think we would get leaderboards, a way to see if you should get better times. Nope, how it works is every week there are five challenges and you just submit your best time, no seeing what anyone else is doing. Then the time ends and the rankings come out and you get your place overall and in your birth year rank, you see your post and ten spots under yours on a list, that is it. You can't see if the top 10, you can't see if your time is one of 10000 of the same time or not. Thankfully you can watch a replay of the first place guy, that's all you see. How they messed this is up is wild. Also the challenges are just taken from the mode where you unlock all of them but you can't use the times you got there, just seems redundant.
This needs way more modes. It has some survival mode which is you do three challenges against 8 other ghost times from other players and each round you lose players until the end. This would be better actually live with other players or much more like a battle royal. Better challenges and more games are a must, I hope we get free updates.
I was going to get it but decided to hold off at the last minute. Seems like I made the right call.
I switched from Animal crossing to Stardew Valley. So far, I'm enjoying it more. There's more to do and explore right at the start. The controls are taking some getting used to, though. I'm always hitting the wrong buttons.

Played a bit of Stardew Valley awhile and enjoyed it as well. Did the same thing with hitting the wrong buttons as well.
Played some Coral Island which is very much a 3D version of Stardew Valley. Quite good.
Stardew Valley is so damn good. I'm still kind of in awe. Just how much content the guy who makes it has put into the game over the years. He's practically built a sequel within the original game.

Yeah it's incredible. I cannot sink much time into it but it is the only videogame my wife plays.
I mostly played Nintendo racers on N64. Really enjoyed SF Rush series on it too.. And Rush 2049 on Dreamcast. I miss the over-the-top arcade racers of the 90s.
I remember playing the demo on Wii u years ago. Never got around to playing it. It's now on Switch, the Ultimate editon and cost me a dollar.
Surprised there was no hype around this games release, it's really very good.
It has 3 types of shooter gameplay blended together. So you have your standard scrolling sideways schmup. Then you have free movement with anti gravity, kind of like swimming in a 2D Mario game without having to continually pressing the jump button.
Then you go inside massive ships and Sci fi fortresses and gravity kicks in, you ship drops and becomes a tank and it's now like a 2d platformer with guns. Very cool.
It's got great controls and Visuals and frenetic gameplay.

I tried it on game trials, didn't take. Felt very old.
So I finally gotten around to starting Immortals: Fenyx Rising. It more or less seems okay. Definitely took more than a little inspiration from breath of the wild, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. What is a bad thing? Is the banter between Zeus and Prometheus. Those little comments are very Hit or Miss. And the hits are few, and the misses are really big misses. I really hope as the game progresses they become less frequent.

Yeah, most of the humor in That game is really bad.

Lol gran turismo story. This is happening to players:
$70 releasing soon:
^My first thought was, that's cool, Gran Turismo should make an old school arcade racer.
I agree.
I miss the arcade mode the older GT games had, especially in GT3. The series takes itself too seriously these days. Too sterile.
I miss these days of raacing games:
Top Gear Overdrive (N64) - FULL Game (youtube.com)

You need to play Asphalt 9.
It's free and it's the best arcade racer I've played in years.
I bought Rive.

Shame it was the developers final game.
