So that Zelda presentation, ehhh. They still haven't shown what you DO, what's the goal so I'm still holding hope for dungeons but I'm losing it quickly. It seems they decided to double down on the do whatever you want sandbox elements of BOTW, which is cool but to me none of those things matter if the games content isn't good. The sky hasn't shown me anything that is interesting yet.

The abilities shown are awesome, the possibilities endless. The potential for incredible puzzles are immense... but have they shown that, nope. It's all just look you can do this! They seem to want to cater to the YouTube crowd that loves videos like "1001 things you didn't know you could do in TOTK!!!" Kids love it, kids rather just run around a game inventing shit than having an actual goal and that saddens me so much.

If there were dungeons and these skills were learned one by one in a dungeon designed around those powers I would be losing my mind. But I feel you get all those skills at the start and not have any meaningful progression again. I hope I'm wrong.

I 100% agree with everything you said Vader.  Showing the tools is one thing, but I hope there's also an interesting game being built around them.  The sky islands didn't look like much in the presentation, but it's a more or less elegant way to be able to design more linear experiences where the devs can control from what direction you approach a specific problem.  I'd assume that if that's not their goal, they wouldn't have designed them like they did.

If they are mostly re-using the game world, I'm just wondering what they've been spending all their time on.

With these new abilities, I suppose a traditional horse race will be scrapped and Link will have to have a boat race or car race from objects that he fashioned.

Watched the Zelda video.

Garbage video. Game will be great but they really need to hype this game more after the long wait.

Probably won't be till launch, when a decent story trailer will release.

Like the mechanics though.

I may be the only one totally okay with being left in the dark concerning this game. Its Zelda, I'm sold. I do admit that I want some true dungeons as well, so I will be disappointed if there are none. Maybe best if I found that out sooner than later. My son is in common hype mode for this game. All I hear is "May 12, cant wait" I remember those days. LOL

I also forgot how much of a monster BotW was in terms of sales. Ocarina, the second bestseller in the series, has only half of BotW's sales.

I hope there are proper dungeons in it but it wouldn't bother me it doesn't either. I enjoyed  BotW's puzzle shrines more. It is an odd omission to not have dungeons in this kind of game, though.

I like that Nintendo is being secretive with their games. Too many games reveal far too much too early and there's little to no surprises once I'm playing.

I agree with you Raven, but BotW, while wildly succesfull, also alienated a number of core fans.  Some critiques, like the lack of dungeons, are adressable within the framework set by BotW.  It would be nice to know if Nintendo chose to remediate those matters or just outright ignore them in favour for this new direction.

I suppose reviews will adres these issue's, so fence sitters can just wait for those.

I’ve been looking to pick one up since a little before Christmas but my local Walmart and Best Buy just never seemed to have any in stock. Finally saw that BB had some in so went over and grabbed one. Going to be nice to move on from the Xbox One S. No more long loading times.

Thanks. Definitely looking forward to trying out a whole bunch of games and stuff on it. It’s always cool getting a new piece of tech and playing around with it.

Maniac Mansion: the trial and error is real.

Edit: I am enjoying it quite a bit, though.

Yeah, I got it on a Gog sale. I'm playing the enhanced PC version. I also got Day of the Tentacle Remastered.

I still need to try out Day of the Tentacle one of these days. As much as I enjoyed Maniac mansion and most of the Lucasart games, I never got around to playing that one.
