Damn. I’m playing the wrong games.
This weekend, I am still attending wizarding school In Hogwarts Legacy. No panty raids...yet!
I've been preparing for the Gathering Storm in Civ 6 Anthology this weekend.
Mostly played some more Horizon: Forbidden West and a bit more Atomic Heart this weekend.
Played some Splatoon3 and started Link's Awakening DX on the Switch's Gameboy app.
I reached level 100 of the winter catalogue in Splatoon3 this weekend, just in time for the season's end on March the first. My ploy of playing the game every day for at least one win to complete the catalogue has worked brilliantly, but I don't think I'll keep playing at this rate. I haven't played a game on a daily basis since Animal Crossing and I can't even remember when I didi that before AC. I'd also like to focus on some other games. Here's hoping the spring season's fashion isn't as tempting as winter's was.
Just looked up prices on Banjo Tooie and Hybrid Heaven. Welp 🤣
£250 for Banjo
£70 for Hybrid Heaven
It got so annoying I didn't want to turn the WiFi on the phone.
I actually ended the Conkers auction cause I was getting all these offers. And the prices vary so much.
There's one in the Netherlands that is £750 with 14 watchers or something. And I can't see any difference between it and mine.
Literally in the middle of typing this someone has messaged me about Conker.
And I know if you try to sell anything on Facebook marketplace, there are people who literally troll sellers. They ask a bunch of questions, arrange a meeting, and never show up. Pretty much has made me give up on the entire process.
Collectors be nuts these days.
Then I was asked for photos of the top, bottom, left side, right side.
Then they asked for photos of the inside of an n64 box.
Then I was asked to photo the cartridge from all angles. Then the manual inside and out.
Even though I said my games were stored in a hard case from day 1 of ownership. I was even asked if my conker box was original or a reproduction.
Ahh, 2006. The good old days. Before everything went to shit.
I spent a little time on a retro gaming subreddit, and they definitely get nutty over there. At the end of the day it's really no different than collecting anything else I guess, but I always drop my mouth a little bit when I hear people talking about identifying what print runs different cartridges came off of. I mean these people know things about games I didn't even know you had to know about.
And the prices. Well those are just insane. I'm definitely out of the market for collecting ever again, unless of course my fairly worthless pile of Wii U games accidentally becomes valuable one day.
Atari Jaguar is quite valuable now, so anything is possible.
Years later you can sell them for more than you paid for them.
I might sell my Wii U Zelda special editions off.
Thanks to nephew's I never even displayed the figures as they would be destroyed.
Perfect Dark can be bought, but its a part of the Rare Replay. Conker can be bought separately. Or you can play both on the Game Pass.
Today a new Splatoon3 season starts. New weapons, new levels, new gear. Ooooh, the tension! I had a sneak peak at the Nintendo app to see what returning stage has been added, and it's a good one. Hopefully I'll be able to get a few games in tonight.
Well I’m hyped.
