I've been playing Horizon Forbidden West, Resident Evil 1 HD, and a little Civ 6 this weekend. If I didn't already know Horizon Forbidden West was a cross-gen game, I'd believe it was built ground up exclusively for the PS5.

Have returned to playing the PS4 version of Mass Effect 3 Legendary Edition. Should be finishing that up relatively soon.

I didn't play much of anything.  Some Splatoon3 here and there.  For some reason I couldn't reach my usual level of play, so it was a pretty frustrating experience as well.

I wish I'd had an NES in the late 80s and a subscription to Nintendo power.

I only had a subscription for one year, and considering how I read those magazines cover to cover, dozens of times, I'm kind of surprised I never renewed. The final issue that I had from late 1990 started mentioning that Nintendo was going to start shifting its efforts to the Super Nintendo next year, and I think that left a bad taste in my mouth since I didn't quite understand that game consoles would be phased in and out over the years.

And as much as I knew they were essentially 40 pages of advertising, they were the delightful to have. I got introduced to a lot of games, some that were completely overhyped, but others appropriately so. And I probably wouldn't have ever played Final Fantasy had they not spotlighted it for four issues in a row.

Tried a few demos.

Unusual Findings is a 80s style Stranger things inspired graphic adventure. I already want it. Looks great, nice atmosphere and dialogue.

The Excavation of Hobs Barrow, is set in England, has an awesome atmosphere, love the art and it has a spooky atmosphere. It reviewed well.

My first gaming magazine subscription was to EGM in 1992 after I got my Genesis and SNES. I would read each copy until the pages started to show signs of wear. I had that subscription for about 6 years and kept them for a long time. Unfortunately, tossed them all out on the mid 2000s. Wish I still had them. Awesome time capsules.

Never watched any of the movies or read the books so don’t really have any attachment to the franchise. Looks like it turned out well but have other games I’d rather get instead. If it ever hits Game Pass I’d check it out though.

I love that all of Zelda 1 is just the bottoms south west corner.

Hello everyone, finally moved, I am now a Tampaian? Tampan? I have no clue what they are called. Last day of work was so sad, so many goodbyes and tears, I got taken out to dinner and everything. I've settled in and now I wait for the job to start... which ever I end up choosing lol.

I finished Hifi Rush which is just brilliant, what a game. Need to finish high on life before my sub ends. I think I'll mooch Hogwarts from a friend steam account.

This past week had so much RE4 remake coverage, the game is a dream come true, just incredible in every where. Love the new combat options, everything seems so faithful and the upgrades look to enhance. Going to be a masterpiece I feel.

Okay. I had PSVR2 in my cart on and I had my CC in my hand but when I saw the $630 total price, just couldn't pull the trigger. I thought to myself: If I double that price I could get a 55" LG C2 OLED 4K TV. Decisions, decisions. Sad

Well I got one because of my fantasy football winnings, it's way too expensive. Could drop quickly too. That said those GT VR  impressions are so good, it's going to be damn amazing.

Ooooh.

Indeed. Really liked the game. That kind of narrative adventure is my style these days.

As a switch only owner I have to see just how bad the port is. But I'm more likely to pick up the LEGO Harry Potter 1 and 2 bundle in one of the sales.

Playing The Suicide of Rachel Foster.

It's a walking sim that's like Firewatch x Gone Home with more adult themes and it's more engaging than both so far.

It's set in this hotel in a winter storm like the Shining. Although there are no jump scares it can still have a tense atmosphere. There's lots of dialogue and the hotel is built in a really engaging way.

Only cost like 2 USD on sale. If you have it on game pass or whatever maybe better played there as the image quality is quite soft on the switch version. Still, no regrets so far.

So here's a rant about 13 years late about Persona 4. It has one of the easiest to miss "true endings" that I have ever come across in a video game.

When you're about 90% of the way through the game, you are presented with a series of questions that if you answer incorrectly results in the "bad ending." If you answer them correctly, the final level and Boss open up to you.

Then after about four or five more hours of playing, you have your big final confrontation and beat the game. Then everything wraps up with one last day where you walk around town seeing your goodbyes to all the friends you made throughout the course of the game. After you've said your final goodbye, you go home and watch a final video and watch the credits go up. It's a nice satisfying experience.... It's also not the true ending of the damn game.

What makes it so irritating is that after you've talked to your last friend, a message appears that says you've spoken to all your friends and now it's time to go home. You can choose yes or no. If you choose no you can continue to walk around town but there's really nothing else going on. And if you try to enter a couple select areas you get that "you've spoken to all your friends, do you want to go home: yes or no" message.

When I first played the game 9 years ago, after getting the go home message several times, I just said yes and went home, and enjoyed the ending. Apparently what I should have done trying to enter one particular area several times and eventually the message would have changed just slightly. And ultimately that would have opened up the door to the super secret boss that is hinted at very subtly two points in the game and the final dungeon in which to find her in.

God damned... It all makes sense and I appreciate that, but had I not stumbled across something about the games true ending a while back, I never would have known it existed. Anyway, after all these years I'm finally going to check it out.

It does look good. If I get this game, I'll likely just wonder around exploring for hours.
