So I'm now at the forty hour mark but not even halfway done with Red Dead Redemption 2. I am certainly having more fun with this second playthrough than with my first time. The reason is because I am not in a rush and am attempting every side quest that I can find. I said MGSV is my favorite game of last gen, but this is a very close second.
So MS will be raising it's prices too. Personally I'm a bit thorn by this. On the one hand, nobody likes spending more, but on the other game prices in general seem to have been lower than they were 2 decades ago. People these days seem to expect everything to be free, or as close to free as possible. Endless sales and GamePass have skewed the perceived value of games. I recall spending over €100 on Conker's BFD when that came out on the N64, although that was the exception, not the norm.
Yeah seems like everyone will have raised prices on games now. I don’t think Nintendo will do so until they release more powerful hardware. I remember paying $100 CAD for Street Fighter II and $115 CAD for Chrono Trigger both for the SNES back in the day. However I think two big factors that need to be considered here are how they make it up with micro transactions and dlc and the fact that digital sales of which they get much more money from those sales.
Also River City Girls is free to play for Switch online members for the next 6 days.
Also 50% off in the sale.
I'm addicted to cheap games. I have 70 unplayed games in my backlog. And around 200 games on my switch wishlist.
Golf club wasteland is £0.80
American Fugitive is £1.79
Paradise Lost is £2.39
Will probably grab a while sack load of games in the winter sale.
Anyone played Disco Elysium? I hear nothing but positive things.
I usually see DLC as a benefit for everyone more than anything else. You brought up paying $100 for Street Fighter too. I bought Street Fighter 2, Street Fighter championship edition, and super Street Fighter 2 full price each goddamn time. I would have loved to have paid $25 and gotten four new characters and a few levels rather whatever the price of a new cartridge was back then.
If the developer ends up making more money off of it too, then it's a win-win scenario.
Yeah, for sure. Companies don’t have to put out a physical product and pay for all the stuff associated with it such as production, shipping, retailer fees, etc. Consumers pay less to get more content to add to and upgrade the game instead of buying a whole different product.
Microsoft has committed to bringing Call of Duty to Switch and Nintendo devices for the next 10 years if the takeover goes through.
Assuming they have motion controls, I'd play any half decent fps. Shame some switch ports don't have them.
Yuji Naka sure is having his troubles.
The EU hosted an online party in the Metaverse which set them back a cool €387.00. According to a reporter who partook, there were 5 people there besides himself, who had all left halfway the event. The EU itself says about 300 people took part in the virtual rave party.
I wonder how you manage to spend €387.000 on a virtual party. There's no cost for the venue or catering. I can only imagine that most of that sum was spent on the marketteers and other of similar ilk who dreamt up this idea.
Big night tonight. The VGA’s baby! Awards to be handed out, cocaine to be snorted, hookers to be banged, and StarTropics 3 to be revealed. 3 out 4 of those things are guaranteed to happen.
I got mine ready.
The Game Awards was really good, none of the really bad lulls and some really good trailers.Castlevania in Dead Cells is awesome! Jedi Survivor looks like it's going to be a great sequel to a great game. Death Stranding 2! Trailer of the show, graphics are amazing, I have. I fucking clue what's going on but it looks amazing and now we are on a giant ship mech thing. FF16 looks bonkers, more epic in scale than GoW. Judas, the fake Bioshock game looks exactly what it should look like. Hades 2 should be excellent. Tekken 8 looks nice. Not sure wtf that bayonetta game was... not sure I want that. Horizon DLC a looks beautiful. Cyberpunk dlc has Elba, nice! There were some stunning indie games, I forget the names but I was impressed with quite a few.
The show had some memorable moments like Judge rambling for 10 minutes about nothing. Flute guy is a legend. And of course the kid who invaded the stage and thanked his Jew friend Bill Clinton. I was hoping for Zelda, or Elden ring DLC, or spider man 2 but hey it's ok.
Thanks for this, I'll check it out. And great astral chain review, I still need to play it but with Bayo 3 I don't know if I feel the need to anytime soon.
It's a balance between investigating, speaking to characters, unique world traversal. Stealth segments, a couple of motorbike sections. Then the combat, which is about 40 percent of the game.
