Have just been playing Triangle Strategy this weekend and while it did take awhile to get things going, got to introduce the player to the characters and what not, it is quite enjoyable. Nearing the 20 hour mark and things have been pretty intriguing so far. Lots of points in the game to make seemingly significant choices. Will be interesting to play through again later on to see some of the impacts and changes.
Still playing Leisure Suit Larry wet dreams dry twice.
I froze myself in a cryo stasis unit (ice cream freezer) to die and have sex with a ghost. Tingle was supposed to revive me, but he showed up in the ghost world as he wanted a threesome.
Later unlocked a secret cave with a mystical device that could revive a characters memory. The device was a 3 pronged alien dildo on a mechanised shaft.
Also found a dead body inside a giant vaginas shaped flower.
That SE is selling off it's western studio's and IP's isn't the news here, it's that they're selling them for a 'paltry' $300 million. Shows just how much these games underperformed for them.
The question is, did they underperform by reasonal metrics, or were they set off against the income of MMO's and mobile games?
My gut instinct is that Sqquare-Enix is selling off underperforming studios in order to make themselves more attractive for in acquisition of themselves. We've been hearing rumors about Sony buying them over the past couple years. It may still be nothing more than a rumor, but when you're trying to get your company sold, this is the very first step you take.
It could also be something as simple as a Japanese studio just not wanting the headaches of trying to run divisions in the west. There's always difficulties in managing companies on the other side of the planet, not to mention general culture clashes between East and west.
That said, I'm still going to bet that in 6 months S-E will be Sony owned, and we'll have some sort of multiplatform deal for their games which seems to be the new trend.
Tried setting up all the filming equipment. The lights are pain in the ass. Such a chore to set up and disassemble. Worse still is that 2x 85w softboxes don't seem bright enough, even when like 50cm from my face.
Not to mention heat. It's a shit show. If I can't get the lighting right I can't film anything.
Can't even position them to evenly light a person and the green screen. It creates shadows which makes editing difficult if not impossible.
Saw this YouTube video saying you need 5 lights for it. 😔
Just make excessive sweating and bad editing your shtick and you're all set to become the next youtube sensation!
Come to think of it, you should affiliate with the GU Podcast. There's bad editing there as well, and I'm pretty sure Aspro sweats excessively too with all his talk about hot peppers.

Perhaps but they are actually doing well financially. I think they just don't want to deal with failures like avengers and guardians.

See, Robio, I don;t think they'd be selling to make them look like a better acquisition target. The parties buying up IP right now for subscription models wants as much IP as they can get. Why would they let go of such icons as Tomb Raider and Gex?
I think it's Square never really taking to their western properties and looking to insulate back to their core strengths and audiences.
As for their blockchain smokescreen, unless it is to pump up their stock, that's sheer nonsense.
I spent the long weekend playing Paper Mario: Origami King. I am flying through it now. It's really picked up but the battle system is still annoying. They should have mixed it up with two types of turned based battle, but then again that would probably never escape the design doc since they are already needing to keep the RPG elements watered down as much as possible for the broader Mario audience.
I looked up 1987 to see what else was going on back then.

Chad (the country) was fighting Libya.
Platoon won best film at the oscars.
Wrestlemania III
Chinese army executed 19 vietnamese refugees.
And that's just before April.
Classic Castlevania moments. I know everyone has their own mindblowing moment. This is mine:
Skeletons on motorcycles for the win!
I started Firewatch this weekend and I'm really enjoying the dlow pace of it. Hood visuals as well.

I love it.
I'd like to see the Stephen Hawking version for Sega Saturn.

Yeah, kind of surprised it was only for 300 million.

Might be a good thing for me as they tend to port games to switch.

Woah GG is getting a channel, link us! Good luck the process to get it up seems tough.

I hate it when that happens.
