That's pretty cool and both a huge waste of time. There's only so much you can do artisticly that it mostly just becomes a work of attrition. I understand that these micromodels enjoy some popularity, in so far that Lego even released one such model itself with the Mario question block set, but other than some novelty, I don't see the point.
I read someone commenting about the Bungie acquisition who remarked that Sony had to do something before all FPS would be Xbox exclusives. There is some hyperbole here of course, but when you think about it MS does now indeed own most of the high profile IP's in the popular FPS genre.
PCgamer seems to think it's more about Sony trying to buy multimedia properties: https://www.pcgamer.com/so-if-its-not-about-exclusivity-why-exactly-did-sony-buy-bungie/.
Again, there seems like there might be some truth to that. Bungie was already set to push Destiny down the lines of a TV series or movie, as well as continue to expand the gaming universe into new genres, similarly to what Sony did with EverQuest back in the day.
Anyway, like any wise acquisition I'm sure there were many motivations for it. That said, I never gave a crap about Destiny so I can't say I'm really concerned.
I saw the sub headline. Cute. Really fucking cute....
You raise many a good point.
Surely these companies must hear some whispering that developers may be on the market and have some ideas about who may purchase them. I think it was said that Activision/Blizzard even shopped around a bit before settling with Microsoft. I would imagine that Sony would probably have had some idea that they were on the market but knew they couldn’t afford them so went out and looked around at what they could afford and started working on some deals themselves.
Usually a third party is brought into facilitate company sales on behalf of the company that selling themselves. Knowing who the interested parties are is never hard to figure out, but once you get to the stage where serious steps are being taken things get a lot quieter and fewer people are aware of what is going on.
In past there was always a lot of face to face interaction so it was easier for leaks to get out. But with zoom and all sorts of other digital file transfers for due diligence, it's easier than ever for these deals to become surprises to most of the parties involved outside of the main decision makers.
Terrible dialogue and logic jumps all over the place. It's just not fun to play.
Got a really cool item in Enter the Gungeon that calls in one of the bosses to be on my side. Even works on other boss fights.
Played some Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and am finding it quite enjoyable. The comedy in it is very cute and charming. Seems like a nice take on the tactics genre.
Its a really good game.
and the DLC is even better. I'm very much looking forward to the sequel as well. Wasn't that due this year? Or was that 2023?
I think it’s suppose to come out some time this year but you never know these days.
Yup, along with Splatoon 3 and BotW2.
Splatoon 3? You mean there was a 1 and 2?
We'll see who's laughing once it gets out the Rock will be featuring in the Splatoon movie.
Aww. I miss the Wii shop music. Ba. ba-da-da-da-dum... Ba-da-da-da-dum...
That's one of the big things missing from the Switch I think. Everything is so bare-bones and sterile. It doesn't have those little touches that make a Nintendo product feel like a Nintendo product. And oddly enough it's been the most successful thing they've done in years, so who the hell knows what that means going forward.
Touché.
Yes, plus the Gamecube start up jingle.
