Played through Deltarune Chapter 1 and 2 this weekend, the sequel to Undertale. Once again the game is magic, superb writing, clever scenarios and a game that is so charming and addicting that I couldn't put it down. Ch1 was ok, I never tried it until now, glad I waited cause ch2 just hit and it's a big improvement. Now it feels like a true sequel, the scope is greatly expanded, there are so many fun little mini games to do and the story is so good. Still this episodic release is hurting the full game, I'm happy to hear the next 3 chapters will be released as one. Once it's all done deltarune should be better than undertale and another classic.
Sad to read about Sir Clive (and Norm Macdonald).
I have not had internet for the last week and a half (still down, using a hotspot to post this).
It's an inconvenience not having the internet, but nothing more than that.
For PC I assume?
It was a FANTASTIC console, one of my favorites.
Played Arkham City Wii u today. Bought it before the 360 was hooked up. Still own that version. On the downside the frame rate is very slightly sluggish. And some cutscenes are videos with compression. So they somewhat tar the overall presentation. On the plus side it looks identical and has some nifty bee features.
For a start I can build up and unleash energy in the form of more powerful attacks. So those boring combat scenes can be over a lot sooner.
Then the Wii u pad becomes like an actual bat computer. For a start Alfred's and enemy radio gets played through the Wii u pad speakers giving a more intimate effect.
You have gyro aiming for all gadgets, you can use the u pad as a scanner in detective mode. You can assign and arrange weapons via touch screen. There's a persistent map and interactable sonar. Kinda cool.
You need both GTA discs to play it on consoles. At some point through the game you have to switch discs just like the old days. At least that is how the PS3 version worked.
I'm thinking like an interpretive dance.
You can use the touchscreen with the sonar to remotely detonate explosive gel.
Was trying Perfect Dark 0 last night, got stuck on the first level. Couldn't find the panels to zap. I think there's a bug, if you fall down a shaft you can't go back up to activate it. I played it before but the game feels weird, not like the original at all.
I don't know much about sonar, but if that's true think of all the damage dolphins could do. That'd be awesome.
So now Bobby Kottick himself is being subpoena'd in the various trials Activision Blizzard is enbroideled in.
I always wonder how many people have an aversion to him purely based on the images that circulate the internet. If he'd look less evil and backstabbery, would there be such a culture of hatred towards him?
Tried a few 360 games today so will be updating the Mclassic thread.
By God Perfect Dark zero is bad. After the 2nd mission I'm never going back.
COD MW3 controls were good, seems I can enjoy dual analogue fps if the controls are just right.
Overall though I'm left disappointed with how 360 visuals hold up on a 1080p TV. I'd only played it on a 720p TV, a tiny one and a massive one. Here though there's all sorts of visual noise. I expected that on a 4ktv, but not on a 1080p set with output set to 1080p over hdmi.
Edit: oops left sharpening at max. Need to retest.
Bought Goldeneye Reloaded 360
Controls are good too, though it does feel like easy mode engaged. Using snap to makes it super easy. But is it feasible to play without it? Time will tell but I think not as I remember lots of intense firefight on wii that I'm not sure dual analogue can do justice to.
It loses some of the fun without IR control but is still probably my favourite FPS.
Still playing Arkham city. This wii u version has made the game a lot more user friendly. You can use the touchscreen for upgrades and tutorials. You can directly touch the map to set way points. There's a cool hacking touchscreen mini game.
But nothing beats the B. A. T system, building up your special bar and ending those overlong fight sequences more easily and faster. I just entered this arena with Penguin putting out all his guys and I remember hating it.
Now I'm gonna sort those fools out in half the time.
Lots of stuff for 2022 though. Switch will go out with a bang it seems.
Wowzers! Splatoon 3, GBA CastleVania Collection, Bayonetta 3, Actraiser Renaissance...?!
N64 and Genesis Switch Online... 😮
Rune Factory 5...
That Direct was pretty great. I really liked:
