I've been replaying Super Mario Galaxy 2. It still looks great, especially on the Wii U upscaled to 1080p. I remember so very little about this game that it kinda feels like a new game.
I miss the Wii remote and nunchuk. That being said, I'm not a fan of aiming at the screen to use Yoshi's tongue. Awkward AF.
Why would you be playing both Splatoon games simultaneously?
The real question is, how is he playing Splatoon on the Wii?
Iwata was working on a game very much like Splatoon for the N64 DD which used water pistols, (never fully developed or released) Nintendo was working on how to make a non-violent shooter, so it is an idea that has been kicking around for a while.
I was curious to see if you could still get a game on the Wii U and how it compared to the Switch game (answer, very easy, it was active, and it looks great).
I certainly had a better time on the Wii U, I was getting owned consistently on the Switch with Splatoon 2.

I was just thinking of replaying this last week, but had not conisdered doing so on the Wii U -- good idea!
Isn't it currently €19.99 due to some sale? Also, does the trick still work where if you demo game pass ultimate for a month for €1 all your Xbox Live credit gets converted to Game Pass Ultimate 1:1? Or you could simply take the game pass ultimate trial for €1 and get the games you're interested in at a nice discount (or does this apply to XBL members as well?).

I don't suffer from it, at least not on Xbox. As the true Nintendo fanboy I am, I hardly consider the Xbone as part of my gaming collection and thus have no qualms about getting the games I want for it as cheap as I can.

The original is the superior game anyway. Too much lag killed the Switch version for me.
I haven't updated in a while. Between coronavirus and having no work I just play Animal Crossing endlessly or watch Netflix. AC is my refuge. I've already clocked in over 170 hours.
