This weekend the residents of Isle Bliss are making huge strides. I'm also on the verge of finishing The Outer Worlds.
What about you villagers?
Yeah, i haven't been able to access this site in a week. Tonight I decided to search google.com for "the vg press" instead of using my bookmark and it worked!. No idea why my old bookmark stopped working. (
I just checked my old bookmark; www. is missing.
There are double candles in Sky, so I've mainly been playing that...
So, Lumines. Is it any good?
It's currently 50% off in the eShop and I have some coins left, but I'm not sure how I feel about spending 1.50 eurodollars on it.
I finished the Mario Rabbids Donkey Kong DLC. I liked it better than the main game to be honnest.
Also played some Animal Crossing. Thanks to the wife and kids I'll typically only be able to play after 22h00, which sorely limits what I can do as everything is closed by then. I also started a new island on our new Switch Lite. This time I'm the main (and only) resident of The Refuge, an idylic island located in South America, where fall has just begun and there is a 5 hour time difference so that I can enjoy the benefits of the Able Sister's services or selling crap to the Nook twins.
We also spent the day outside in our garden yesterday, as temperatures soared to 21°C. I actually got a sunburn.
It's worth that. At least it was on PSP.
What's the gameplay like? I never quite understood how it worked.
puzzle like match 3 but with interactive music. not rhtym based, you don't have to drop in time. good portable game, not life changing.
I tried the Bravely Default 2 demo yesterday. As a fan of the 3DS games, I did not like it at all. The lower poly characters in the prior games were much better suited at conveying emotions than these lifeless higher poly models. The mouths are a thing from nightmares, all lipless slits moving about in unrealistic manners. The prior game's simple drawn on mought were much to be preferred above these abominations. And my god, the thick Irish accent on one of the protagonists grates!
Monster design is equally bland it seems, with everything looking as if it's been modelled in glossy plastic without much detail. This game would benefit much from a borderlands-esque style to mimic the hand drawn quality of the 3DS games.
But worst of all, the way battles play out has changed as well. It's still turn based, but instead of chosing your actions for your whole party at the beginning of a turn and seeing everything play out, you get to chose each character's actions when it's their turn to attack. This does away with much of the strategic rumminations and tension. I can see why it might have been changed as to be more welcoming to new players in an attempt to broaden the userbase on switch, but for returning players it just feels off.
Encounters also aren't random anymore, with the same horrible 3D models roaming the map. Technically this means you could evade fights, but all monsters have a large range of vision and are faster than you, so all it adds is a feeling of dread when you see yet another character model hobble over to you to assault you.
I'm really not impressed by this demo. I'm turned off from even completing the demo, but I feel I must so I can share my damning feedback and hope the developers will make the necessairy changes. Boo to this.
Unfortunately, They drop you in head first without much of a tutorial, and immediately I got overwhelmed by all the menus and level up systems. I'm sure it's no More complex than other similar games, but having it thrust in front of you all at once is more than I'm interested in.
So since I have the time, Stardew Valley was on sale on the Google Play store for $5, so I picked that up again and I'm playing it on my tablet.
I bought Doom for $3 on the PlayStation Store spring sale. It's so good, even by today's standards.
It came out in 2016; not much has changed since then.
I think I'm going to go ahead and get Doom 2 for that price. That's cheap considering it came out two weeks ago.
Actress Honor Blackman died, aged 94. She was a bondgirl in 'Goldfinger'. Those were the times, where you could name a female character in a blockbuster movie 'Pussy Galore' with a straight face.
Because there were a lot of dicks?
Spider-Man is coming out tomorrow for PlayStation Now. Did anyone play it? I seem to remember someone, maybe Vader? Anyway, I am going to give this a shot or put my entire account on hold for a month and see what comes out next month. The other new additions aren't anything special.
