Well, a little late, but I began a play through of Jedi Fallen Order this weekend.  I like it but not loving because the controls can be a bit of a pain, especially during the platforming sections.  The platforming just feels clumsy at times and there's too much trial and error for my tastes.Other than that, I'm really enjoying it, especially the exploration.

I played a lot of Dig Dug for Atari 7800 this weekend. I also played quite a bit of Virtua Racing (Switch) too.

Played a lot of Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition on the Xbox One and it’s such a fantastic game. I’m more hyped for the upcoming Will of the Wisps game now. If it turns out to be as good as this game is it’ll be a definite day one purchase for me, they’ll have earned my money for sure.

I've decided to finally play Prince Of Persia 2008. It's a neat looking game & has some cool level design, but otherwise definitely a misstep. Looking forward to moving on.

As Digital Foundry recently pointed out, a high end CRT can even be better for modern consoles than all the new age 4k HDR sets we've been sold.

UPS strikes again. My expensive Christmas package was supposed to come Friday. It came today instead only the delivery guy didn't ring the doorbell when I was in all day. Now my package lies unguarded in the aisle of a dirty Turkish grocery.

That is really weird the way they operate in Britain man. I'm pretty sure if they did that here it's something people would be up in arms about.

When I used to live in an apartment in a shitty area, I couldn't just have them leave stuff so I would sign for everything. A few times I had that happen to me where I would be home but the asshole either didn't knock, or didn't knock very loud. So there would be a note on my door saying they missed me & would try again the next day. I think it's 3 times they will leave a note. Then if you're not around, they will tell you to go pick it up at UPS's own store, or if it's USPS you'll have to go to the local post office etc.

I only ever had to go pick something up once out of the tons of things I've gotten online.

Billable Weight: UPS - United States

They're better for everything. But they're massive and heavy, so they're also worse for everything. In any case, the periodical rediscovery of the qualities of CRTs by different tech/gaming outlets really brings home how short people's memories are lol.

P.S.  Oh, and the high end ones are not cheap (unless you get randomly lucky), in spite of what the rediscovery articles all claim.

No branch outlets here I guess. They pay mom and pop stores to hold items instead. Hate when you're in the house and they just shove a leaflet through the door saying they missed you wtf? My brother got a webcam doorbell which takes pictures anytime someone approaches his house now. He's been sending pictures to various family members. I feel like using tape to glue an old photo of him in front of the camera 🤭

Super heavy & super expensive.

I had a 36 inch Sony trinitron (which I wish I still had) and the fucking thing was INSANELY heavy. When I got rid of it...I asked my cousin to come over & help me move it when he had time. So he shows up at my old place first thing in the morning....I'm half asleep, no energy yet to be picking this thing up. The place had a really nice hard wood floor in the living room just before the hall to the front door. I tripped backwards as we were going through the living room & dropped the TV right on it's corner on the floor. I shit you not, it left like a two inch dent on the hard wood. LOL

I'm just glad it didn't land on my foot.

I'm surprised it didn't fall through the floor to the foundations!

Not at all. If he was really unlucky it could have pierced the very crust of the earth, creating a massive sinkhole through which Edge, his brother, their TV and the entire house would have fallen, following the CRT all the way to the Chinese factory on the other side of the world where it was manufactured!

LOL

That would suck because I probably would have been thrown in a reeducation camp & had half of my organs removed for a stack of Renminbi.

That's where I am at. I am taking a break from it to start Gears 5, but I will certainly get back to it.

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to the community, and Happy day off to the atheists and muslims.

I cannot imagine how much my life would be better if everyone on this board lived in the same town and we got to spend time together Happy

Tough week for me, dealing with a death, and not dealing very well.
