Started playing Doom N64 (on original N64). It's better than expected. Pinky's look like they are from Clayfighter 64.

Quake 2 was pretty damn fun on the N64 too. That was a great console for shooters...it's just too bad Nintendo never released an updated dual shock controller equivalent.

I gotta say, I've always defending the N64 controller, but playing an FPS with it in 2019 I've had my first doubts.

I think what is throwing me off is applying downward pressure with my thumb for forward omtion, while using my pointer finger for the trigger results in a sloppy "I'm drunk on a rolling ship" type movement.

Wow!  That snarky response.

I think he shoudl publish his wife's comment as a review:

"'Oh, is that the game about backpacks that you hated?' 1/10"

I love his wife now. Good for Edge, fuck publishers.

Wait, a CoD game puts Rockstar to shame?

Both are genre exploitation. Rockstar features some parody, too; pretends to feature satire. CoD is a parody of itself at this stage, and accidentally blows Rockstar's pretend satire out of the water!

Getting into show material here, but I think it's safe to assume that out of the few hundred writers on the game the self-satire is likley not entirely unintentional.

You've read the book by the Spec Ops The Line author (did we ever get into that) and his subversion of the game (which he got away with).

I feel like not publishing a negative review might be just what the publisher would want.

The self-parody is most likely intentional. The satire might just be your classic case of political propaganda expressing itself as projection.

We did. And I concluded that other than one scene, he didn't really subvert the game, as everyone working on it intended to make a subversive shooter; according to his accout, anyway.

Omg this is hilarious. Edge mag isn't publishing a Death Stranding review. Here's why https://www.neogaf.com/threads/edge-wont-be-releasing-a-review-of-death-stranding.1509133/

Basically it's...."This game is so boring we can bring ourselves to play it anymore and therefore can't review it."

I just finished the mall floor in LM3. Still early on but I am loving finding the gems, very well hidden. The ghosts and bosses have been super easy so far, I feel it was kind of new to me in LM2, now I am waiting around for some new mechanics to make this part more interesting. Didn't LM2 have checklists and record keeping between levels? That seems to be missing here.

So I have to ask, does God of War just start out really slowly? The pacing of it is killing me. I like the story, but these puzzles are absolutely retarded and way too frequent. I'm still only a couple hours in, so it's too early to judge, but so far I have no idea how this was considered a game of the year.

I can't remember. But I have already prepped my 3ds and LM2 to play as soon as I finish this.

All my fun with Luigi's Mansion 3 came to a screeching halt last night.  The Switch no longer charges, docked or undocked.  I've also tried charging via usb and resetting it holding the power button.  Nothing.  I'm going to contact Nintendo's customer service about it, but I'm in no position to pay for repairs at the moment.

If you call and it's not under warranty they'll give you a price for the repair. Just tell them a few times that you can't afford it and will have to put it off for now. If you've registered enough products with them they will probably eventually offer to do the repairs for free if you cover shipping.

The other possibility is that they'll offer a very deep discount. I've done this a couple times and I got a repair done for free on a 3DS and a $20 repair for something else...wii u maybe.

That kind of price is acceptable.

You sure it's not the battery indicator fault I had? Read up on it. Also I'm watching Watchmen the TV series. I haven't read the graphic novel. Does this stuff happen in the book? The movie was very different?

SPECULATION: Playtonic Games (developers of the Yooka-Laylee series) might be joining Xbox Game Studios and/or working on a new Banjo-Kazooie game
So they left Rare formed Play tonic only to be acquired by Microsoft again?

I'm very impressed with the visuals on Luigi's Mansion 3. It really helps to on a great 1080p TV compared to 720. Digital Foundry did a write up.
"One of the best looking exclusives to hit Switch yet, Luigi's Mansion 3's visuals have a CG film-like quality. Sheer density of objects on screen is staggering and almost every object can be interacted with.
- Lighting / dynamic shadows praised despite some imperfections like aliasing / stair stepping.
- SSR present.

- The AA is not very thorough. Lesser issue in cut-scenes than game play.
- No motion blur in the cut-scenes.

- Docked: 1080p Gameplay and cut-scenes, but some parts of the frame like DoF show dynamic 900p.

That would be the most ironic thing to happen in gaming since giant bomb was bought by the organizational that owns Games pot.

I think the TV show is set after the comic? Seems like it's probably a loose adaptation, but I haven't seen it, so can't help you out more than that.

Incidentally, people being triggered by Rorschach coming across as a piece of shit is hilarious. Sounds like that much, at least, is accurate to Alan Moore's original intentions. That and the explicit political commentary. Really, how can you like Alan Moore's work if you don't like political and social commentary in pop art? Uneasy
