I am home and have more or less survived the cruise with my family. I love them all greatly, but after by the end of a week, being on a cruise with your family feels a little like being in a floated jail with them. Hope everyone had a good Christmas and is having or already had a happy new year.
And while I'm on the subject of the cruise I'd like to take a minute to say a great big "fuck you" to Square-Enix. I picked up Romancing SaGa 2 for my phone thinking it'd be a good way to kill time. The bastards require authentication every single time you boot it up and that means if you don't have internet access you can't play it. And these bastards aren't even consistant with the way they do their authentication. Final Fantasy Tactics only seems to authenticate once a week. Dragon Quest 8 doesn't need it at all. Ehhhh, pain in the ass. Fortunately between Tactics and Don't Starve I still had a few games on hand to play during the frequent downtime.
So in conclusion, happy holidays to all, except the fuckers at Square-Enix.
How does it compare to Skyward Sword for you? That's the Zelda that came out the same year as Skyrim.
Morrowind is still the best Elder Scrolls. They need to remake that shit...none of this Morrowind online nonsense.
Skyward Sword is still much better. Best designed Zelda game by far. Regarding Skyrim I found it weird that weapons didn't break lol. That would have been better than getting over encumbered and having to ditch weapons just so you could move. Oblivion was in my top 10 games ever. Skyrim, even though it's very similar, it just feels old. Maybe it's because the new Fallouts have the same basic template too. Still I love the immersion and little stories and details. They really need to sort out the controls and base gameplay for the next game though. It's unresponsive and cumbersome.
Skyward Sword was an odd one for me. I remember enjoying the game...but at the same time I don't really have any memories from it. Nothing really about it stuck with me. Pretty much every other Zelda has moments I have fond memories of. Maybe I need a Switch HD rerelease.
Saw Jumanji yesterday - surprisingly good. But the trailers were the most interesting thing -- out of the loop here, but why is there a big-budget Rampage movie coming?

I just thought that I’d let you guys know that Twaina has the tastiest pie in all of Torigoth.
Yes sir, tell Twaina “ hi” for me. I fondly remember New Years 2006.

Happy new year!!!!!
May 2018 not suck like 2017
Happy New Year all you sexy bastards....and yeah outside of all the great games 2017 did suck. This year has to be better.
Welcome back Robio...I'm glad you didn't drown.

Happy New Year everybody!
So the VGPress turns ten this year?
Happy New year, y'all.
I've been reading EG's top 50 games of the year and one of the writers described how I feel about Mario+Rabbids perfectly:
poundland Mario.
That's exactly how it feels to me. The combat is enjoyable, but everything else just feels cheap, shallow, and about to break.
I had to google “pound land”. I’ve never heard of it.
neither had I, but I found it to be self-explanatory.
...
No Edge, it's not what you're thinking of.
Robio, I’m not sure how much of a sports fan you are but I was proud of your hometown team, UCF.
