I forget the name of that area, but that was probably my favorite area to mess around with in the original Morrowind. The design of that city was great for experimenting. It was super easy to get the guards to follow you and get them stuck in the river so they couldn't get out.

That's Balmora. The scale of things is much larger, feels like an actual city. Silt striders tower over you.
Dad also likes to mix old veg with new veg and reboil everything hoping it will be okay. I can tell because the peas are different colours, Dad!
So back to Xenoblade 2. It's funny how I've flip flopped on the character designs in this game.
At first I hated the main character design, but since playing it, the puffy pants don't bother me and he is a deep sea diver so his outfit makes sense.
Also the facial expressions are so much better (see right pic) than XCX. Just seems polished in a way their past games haven't. It's pretty much cel shaded, but it can jar with some realistic enemy designs.
This girl is awesome:
Voiced by a Welsh actress. Hilarious.
Really cute design and her white tiger, talks! She can ride it. I want to play as her.
The game itself has given me a couple of buggy moments so far, one where I was stuck talking to a character who kept repeating the same thing, I hit a button which skipped me out of it. And when the game was trying to show me how the secondary combo worked, I couldn't initiate it.
I look forward to getting Xenoblade 2 but I just have too much right now. I haven't even gamed at all for the last week. Too sad to play. Hopefully this weekend.
Xenoblade 2 is getting better. Once you hit the first open world I noticed the visual improvements. There's real time lighting which makes everything more vivid. Tons more vegetation on show. Loads of npcs in towns far more than xcx. And it's not just the main character models that are improved, every single npc is too so it adds a more cohesive look to the game. But for some reason the shaders in xcx are much better. I have a feeling they paired back the shaders because the characters are pretty much cel shaded and sometimes when you do come across a shiny shaded creature it doesn't quite gel well with the art design. Game is becoming much better, it's a lot lighter toned than previous xeno games, with full on comedy skits. The map though... Total shit. Thankfully you have on screen objective markers but dat map is a pile of crap after xcx.

EG has a good piece on the technology side of the game. Seems like they really upped the special effects, but to the detriment of the handheld mode. Tehy've reported resolutions lower than 360p. That's near 3DS like territory.
You'd think Nintendo would be worried about their files being illegally copied by pirates and made available to any android platform. How do they think they could prevent that from happening? It's a strange move for a company that guards it's IP so well and has never before allowed their games to be released on non-Nintendo hardware.

If you read the story the games are also going to be optimised for Shield.
You could have HD wii games while the rest of us wait around for official re-releases on switch.
EDIT: Eurogamer says that the games will be 1080p? But don't really cite where or when that was said.

Yeah in portable mode it looks like shit. The resolution is so bad it's the equivalent of one of those old tvs with a an antennea you wiggle about endlessly trying to get a decent picture. On tv it looks good, but I wonder why they didn't just do XCX like visuals at 900p or something like that. It would have been more polished. The picture can look a little soft at times.

Sorry to hear that GG, hope you feel better soon.

Thanks. I'm okay now.

Good to hear GG, well except for your dad mixing old and fresh vegetables together. Ewww.
Woo hoo! Mega Man, mega news.
Mega Man 11 coming to current platforms late 2018. Game looks pretty cool.
All Mega Man X games coming to current platforms in 2018.
Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 & 2 coming to the Nintendo Switch.
Right after Daggerfall that is.
Ditto on the Morrowind love. Favorite ES game as well.
