I played two games this week.

Crash Bandicoot N-Sanity Trilogy

Minecraft on PS4

My nephews have been playing Minecraft at my house for the past two months and they want me to play as well.

I DLed Goof Troop on the Snes yesterday. Only because I saw it was made by Shinji Mikami. LOL

He goes from Goof Troop in 1993, to Resident Evil in 1996. Who makes that kind of jump these days?

Also, going back and looking up all the old Snes stuff I never realized how incredible the system's first year software was. I mean really unfair to the competition. Fucking insane...I'm talking tons and tons of all time greats in it's launch year. The system pretty much caught up to the Genesis library in that one goddamn year! The only other system that I can think of in the same league, is the PS2 in 2001. But I don't even think PS2 quite matches it.

David Jaffe went from Mickey Mania to Twisted Metal

Though it wasn't modern so I can't think of anyone that made that jump recently.

Yeah, the SNES was such a great system with an amazing library of games that still stand the test of time.

It really does. It was the Playstation of the 2d era. Makes me horny.

I also finally got the N64 emulator running. I had to get a different one, the first one I tried was just bizarre. This one works instantly and it's glorious. I played Goldeneye and Castlevania Legacy of Darkness in 1080p with some kind of built in graphics buffer enabled...what a difference. Basically EXACTLY  like getting remastered versions on a modern console. Again the Xbox controls work like a charm, perfectly mapped. Goldneye has camera controls on the right stick like a proper FPS. LOL

This is going to make me go a a retro kick.

Which N64 Emulator are you using, Edge? I've been wanting to play Pilotwings 64 for ages. I'd buy it on VC, but Nintendo doesn't seem to want release it.

It's Project64 version 2.3

You can find it pretty much anywhere...takes seconds to DL and set up. The only settings you really need to mess with are controls and visuals. Set the controls before doing anything, then boot up a game before doing the visuals because the visual settings are tied to each game individually.

[destructoid.com]Monster Hunter Stories: The Legend of Zelda DLC!

I've been very intrigued by this.  I've put hundreds of hours in MH games, and this looks like a nice quirky game, but I can't seem to wrap my head around what type of game it is.  Perhaps it's for the best, as game time has really dwindled as of late and I have enough of a backlog to clear as is.

Just a couple of days left till the SNES mini launches!  Woooo!

So, who's getting one?  I seem to remember Vader had ordered one as well.  Anyone else?

I wanted one at first. But then I was like, fuck that, I'll just use my Retron 5. Now I'm like, fuck that, I'll just use my PC emulator.

I really want to get one however I didn't preorder one so I'm really hoping that I'll be able to just walk into a store here and get one. Probably not going to be very likely though.

Just read the Hob review.  Looks very promising.  Alas, since it's a PC game and I'm short on time, I'll wait for the inevitable Steam sale or Humble Bundle.
