Nintendo use to be a toy company and they still maintain the toy company mentality in limiting their product to make it seem desirable.
This isn't true. Extensive interviews exist which state the reasons. They didn't anticipate NES classic demand, it was always meant to be a seasonal product.
They are making a lot more SNES classics, but they wont all be there day 1. So if you want one, I suggest pre-ordering and just wait for it, as they said there would be a follow up in stock and that period would last longer than the NES classic situation.
Multiple Switch interviews have (absolutely) said that they are not intentionally limiting supply. Their estimates were blown out of the water, it has ended up as their most successful home console launch - bigger than Wii. They have increased their projections and are scaling up supply for the winter season but they are facing component shortages and competition with other electronics makers for things like chips and touchscreens.
As for Amazon not selling Switch directly, seems to be a beef there - amazon weren't directly selling the 3DS either, rumours were that Nintendo weren't accepting units for return that Amazon had accepted for return. So they stopped selling it.
Happy 30th anniversary Metal Gear. 🍻
Sorry but I'm not buying that.
This wont mean much for anybody here, but the Arms DLC boss character can charge and throw 6 charged punches from one charge. Compared to two from any other character as far as I know.
And he gets perma-charged punches like Spring Man when he's down to 20% life. And his arms are max power exploding type. No wonder he's tough. And Heklok, hell he's that x3.
Well it's good to see that Nintendo attended the school of SNK bosses at least.
Me either.
Just because they have some PR suit spout something in an interview doesn't make it true. Nintendo has ALWAYS done this shit...it's nothing new. I had to run around in circles trying to get copies of any big game from any one of their consoles if I didn't pre-order it. All the way back to the Snes, through N64, on to Cube...etc. But this recent stuff is beyond crazy.
I have been playing FO: New Vegas. Fun times.
I want to dry fuck your character's asshole.
To be celebrated with the same level of gusto and fervor as the Metroid 30th anniversary.

This is you reading any Nintendo exec interview
Seriously though, it would be more accurate to say that they are terrible at predicting demand - or hesitant to produce mass numbers and have unsold stock.
That's just crazy, I have no experience of this at all. Since the internet, any game I have wanted I could order, so I don't get that. Pre-internet yes, I have driven to multiple stores before and not found the game I want. But you have to understand Nintendo's market position here and historically. Even today with Switch mania there are still big chains and stores that don't even stock the games. Wii U was near impossible to find games in store because no store wanted to touch it.
How would that be pleasant for any of the parties involved?
Just watching this documentary on driverless cars. Now on the Nvidia segment.
Nvidea, automating millions of people out of a job worldwide.
Seriously I don't understand some governments eagerness to adopt this technology. Sure it will probably save some lives, but it will also ruin a lot of peoples lives when their livelihoods are destroyed and it will just make the car companies richer.
Now they are showing how GTAV is being used to analyse cities for autonomous cars. Videogames really do suck.

Has anyone tried Master Mode on Zelda, anyone else tried this?
My God, had a woodcutters axe, the lowest power enemy in the game is the blue Bobklin, hit him 25 plus times and he lost less than a quarter of his life bar. Knocked him on his ass repeatedly. He would not die.
Did one shrine, tried to use my magnesis to drop on some archers, they spot you from miles away then unleash fire arrows at you. At this point you have no shield, a crappy melee weapon, a basic shirt and pants. No bow and arrow.
Then I got a bow, but........... no arrows. Then on the way to the second shrine I have to dodge a Lynel on the Great Plateau .
So I do the second shrine, somehow nab a claymore. Now I can one hit stealth kill blue bobklins. Okay now we are getting somewhere. Now I have arrows, but the range is shitty, I cannot get close to lookouts and at this point I have no paraglider so cannot get close for a shot.
Jesus, this mode. WTF? So I finally grab a spear and kill a pig for the warm doublet. The saga continues.
So now I have a pot lid as the only shield I own. A level 10 sword, near breaking point and 15 arrows with a level 5 bow.
Once I get out of the great plateau I am heading straight for Hyrule castle to nab some uber weapons. Oh yeah you have three hearts so basically every enemy can one hit kill you.
Screw that! Let Vader deal with that mode.
Except he hates Breath of the Wild more than the Pope hates Muslim Nazi vampires. No one is ever going to be able to get through the game at that level now.
