Hey its Splatoon! Its the same game but still a blast. The new dual weapons are great, so are most of the new supers. I havent played in months but I got right back into it in no time, I was first place in the grand majority of my matches. The graphics are cleaner, more smooth. The pro pad is perfect for this game, motion controls work better than they ever have. It takes a moment to get used to no map but after a while you get used to pulling up the map, not a big deal. The maps are ok, nothing that interesting on display.
The best thing for me was when my dog had to go out. Normally this sucks with online games cause I cant pause, but with this I can take it with me! So I pulled the switch out, boom now I am walking through my home playing an online game, it was magical. Its what the switch was made for. Splatoon 2 is going to be a monster game for this.
More Splatoon in 30 minutes from now. Testfire hour. SWITCH was amazing in bed Las night, no we didn't have sex. Do you guys have a Bluetooth speaker with its own battery? I used a 3.5mm headphone jack to the speakers input. Put the speaker on my chest and had glorious orchestral Zelda music while playing. Given how close the screen is to your face and the quality of the screen it's like viewing a 50" tv screen in front of your face.

On reflection those two maps in the demo were very plain and unimaginative. There are so many awesome Splatoon 1 maps that these two in the demo felt just large and flat and not clever.
I'm doing well with the dualies. I'm playing at home on the large 720p tv and aside from improved character models it looks the same as Splatoon 1. Still no anti aliasing? Controls are far better when docked, game is easier to spot enemies on a large tv. I had a brief moment of left joycon woe during one match for 2 seconds. The map is getting easier to use bit my teamates are useless as usual. Yeah its more Splatoon. Good shit bit nothing revolutionary - doesn't need to be, like Mario kart you just need new stages. I'm not a huge fan of the new specials, they seem overpowered. I cannot stress enough that you need to adjust the sensitivity options in the controls and test them out. I settle on minus 2 when playing with joycons on the tv. For the grip or handheld mode I would need to crank them up. Holy shit I need a shit. I can just take switch upstairs. Megaton.
I just got the wii u stand out to try with switch. Not the charge stand, the other one that came free if you bought the black wii u. It works perfectly and is rock solid.
Wow. Okay so I got a handle on the controls, joycon detached -1.5 sensitivity works perfectly for me. Tried handheld mode again and it looks better on the switch screen than on the 720p tv. So I cranked the sensitivity to max on handheld mode but it just feels too restrictive for guns. For rollers it's fine but for guns I find I have to constantly tilt the right stick to swing hard lefts and rights to the point where it got annoying. So I detached the joycons, put the sensitivity back to -1.5 put the switch in the wii u stand and played. Purrrfect. Rather clever actually that I can have the benefit of great motion controlled aiming without moving the screen about. On another note, rollers now seem over powered. That Splashdown move is too damn powerful and instantly kills anything within range no skill required. Also using the FLYING jetpack- you actually drop and die of you go even slightly outside of the stage borders so say you're backing up for a better shot, you can just die because you don't know how much ground is behind you.
Just watched a ps4 Lego city video preview which said the switch vets was unavailable at the event but that it ran at 720p docked. Seriously what's up with this? Fast rmx and mk8 make the jump to 1080p 60fps with better visuals. Then games like Lego city still runs at 720p? What are the devs even doing with the 3.5x more power the switch has over U?
Xbox one games barely run at 1080p most of the time. Hell PS4 also for that matter. I wouldn't expect much going forward to be 1080p.
These are wii u ports though. Zelda has a 900p boost, fast switch smashes the u version and mk8 goes up to 1080p 60fps. Lego city at the same resolution sounds weird.
