Nintendo Switch is the fastest selling Nintendo console in the Americas and Europe. John Cena FTW!

An 8?! For a system with no features yet. It's like a 5 just cause it works.

Could someone tell me if The Evil Within ever fucking ends? Jesus man, they really are stretching this game. It's been a pretty decent game overall, but for all the little things they borrowed from RE4, the one important thing they missed was the pacing. There are some insanely dull stretches in this game and way too much of it feels like I've already done it before. I'm now facing Box Head for a second time. A second time!!!! Didn't I kill this thing 10 hours ago?  Ughhhhh... I'm only 2 chapters from the end, but it's really starting to test my patience.

In other news, I'm slowly but surely creeping up in the ranks on the Pac-Man CE2 boards. Starting to get into the top 200 on some of the boards, and with a little more practice I should be in the top 100 soon enough. Good times. Nice to be reminded there are a few games I don't entirely suck at.

The new DQ XI pics are looking nice. The town and backgrounds for some reason doesn't quite jive with the characters, but that will likely look better in motion.

That said, the story sounds really good. Way too early to tell, but it sounds like it could be up there with DQV's story.

From Gematsu’s translation, it almost sounds as if you play the role of an unwitting fugitive.

As the reincarnation of the legendary “Hero,” the protagonist sets off on a journey through a vast world.

The protagonist, who grew up in the calm village of Ishi, turned 16 years old and took part in a coming-of-age ceremony as a village custom. As the reincarnation of the “Hero” that once saved the world, he understands that he is burdened with a great mission. To learn about the Hero and the Hero’s mission, he sets off on a journey from his hometown.

The destination—the continent’s biggest country, “Delcadar.” Specifically, the king.

Based on his mother’s words that all will be revealed should he go to Delcadar, the protagonist in due course heads for the king. The protagonist informs the king of Delcadar that he is the “hero,” and the king began to tell him what the “hero” means—

And then, the Hero is called the child of the devil!

What the king of Delcadar said was unbelievable. He said that the Hero is the child of the devil. In response to the king’s words, the soldiers surround the protagonist with their swords pointed at him. What is the meaning of all of this? The story of the legendary “Hero” starts off with a bang. What is the fate of the protagonist?

The story of a new “Hero” begins now.

And on that note, we now return you to Zelda talk.

So many spoilers in the Zelda thread! Staying away from that thread.

Now busy playing Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze and 3d World. Excellent games. Tropical Freeze is one of the best 2d platformers in a long time!

If anyone's wondering about DQ Heroes 1 and 2 on Switch regarding how it compares visually, GAF says that SE are porting it from the vita and ps3 versions of those respective games and appears to be a sloppy job.

I watched that Nintendo Switch painful launch video the other day, some very unfortunate stories there. The thing that bothered me the most was Nintendo's take on the dead pixel issue and how they won't replace those that suffer from that problem.

Seriously most of it is a vocal minority. Some dude scratched his screen, suddenly the switch has a scratched screen problem. Cnet deliberately knock over the switch on its stand suddenly switch has a kickstand 'problem'. IMHO most of it is overstated melodrama. From what I've experienced in my review the only two issues I had are easily remedied.
The dead pixels thing is bogus but that is how many tech companies in the industry view dead pixels. This is not a new thing but it is news to some people which is why it's being highlighted now. I had red pixels on my OG DS light and when I took it back to the store they told me the same thing, they're not considered as faulty- according to Nintendo and other manufacturers. They still replaced it. What was worse was the cracked hinge which almost ripped the top half off the bottom out of warranty. Nintendo still sent me a replacement for free. I had red and green dot problem on my wii, again out of warranty, they fixed it for free. Switch itself has the best build quality of any Nintendo device and its the best reviewed hardware they've ever released. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Are there a minority having problems? Maybe, bit I doubt you'd be unlucky enough to be one of them. I actually had another issue yesterday where the switch was not displaying on the tv. After much procrastination I realized that the power cable had come loose in the dock, probably because I was moving the dock about earlier tugging on the cables.
