GG, I kind of put Paper Mario aside to finish Tomb Raider.  I thought I could play two games at once but I wasn't having much luck. I stopped right before the colosseum, however I did have time to help my son through the colosseum today.  So yeah, he is officially further than me.

Soooo....this weekend, I played a good bit of TR on Friday and Sunday.  Saturday, I was at the Gamecock game and state fair so no gaming.  What about you guys?

I have played Disgaea 4, up to chapter 2 in my quest to free Prinnies from the corrupternment and give them sardines.

I started playing Xenoblade Wii on the U gamepad which solved my issues with the way text showed up in HDTVs and allowed me to play it chilling out in a couch or in bed. Im doing the very first quests and so far I am level 10. I just bought a bathing suit for Fiora and shes running around showing cheeks! Baka hentai desu ga.

Also bought Forza 6 and XCX for really fucking cheap, something that was both unexpected and welcome.

I've been mostly playing Dark Souls III with a little bit of Killer Instinct and Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2.

I've been playing Fran Bow on PC - 2d adventure game. Also Doom on PS4. I have a sense of playing other games but cannot remember.

Tried Nintendoland.

Also played Virtua Tennis 4 on Vita. It works. Oh and played a fair bit of Gravity Rush on Vita last weekend. It's better than I remember, but not by much.

I woke up this morning, saw my sad little Wii U collection and decided to get:

Lego City Undercover

Super Mario World 3D

Nintendoland.

I'd get Wonderful 101 but it's just not my genre.

Any other must haves (physcal copies only)?

A bit late in my reply, but you should get Wonderful 101 anyway.  It might be close to a game like Bayonetta in terms of base gameplay, but it's more varied, much more colourful, and above all, much more over the top.  That's right, it's more over the top than Bayonetta.  The daft Sunday mornig cartoonness of it all will have you grinning through most of the cutscenes.

I thought it was a stregy game of some sort... if it's a brawler then I'd consider it.

I just bought a new suv myself. First time in about a decade I had to go through that bullshit. Felt like I was signing my life away...listening to all that nonsense all day gave me a raging headache. But at least the vehicle is sweet.

Congrats on your new ride. Two weeks in how is it going?  I have needed a new car for 4 years and I keep putting it off.  I guess I don't give enough of a shit. I want a sports car but it's not something that works on the roads here.

I got a Rav4 4wd. It's great. I haven't had something like this in a long time and here in new england it makes a huge difference in the winter. Plus just all the extra space and whatnot. Very smooth ride too & great on gas.

No, it's an action game.  You're avatar is just surrounded by a swarm of heroes, kinda like in Pikmin, because the more heroes you have, the stronger your attacks become.  I found it to be great fun and the whole game is just stacking one superlative on top of the other to the point where I was laughing out loud at every other ludicrous setpiece.

So how are you liking TMS?  I've been thinking of winding down my Monster Hunting career and am looking for something to replace it with.  Not that I'm lacking for choice.  I still have Yoshi's Wooly world, COD:BLOPS2, Ninja Gaiden Sigma and the hardcopy of Fast Racing NEO shrinkwrapped and waiting for me.  And I should probably one day return to XCX as well.

Noooo, it'st oo soon.  I'm still trying to put MH4U down.

Unless it's for this Rider type game, that I could live without.

That's not for me, it's for Edgecrusher.

Bah ,the internet ate my earlier post, I was saying how Nintendo could release a 3D screen Switch version later, or a less powerful portable only 2DS like variant for kids. Maybe just shrink the screen and overall size?

And I was explaining that Sony/MS didn't use a Tegra because they weren't making a hybrid/portable console - different design goals. Also Nvidia screwed both companies in the past. No cost reductions for OG Xbox, complicated GPU for Sony.

And that Tegra X1 was just under half as powerful as XB1 so there would be no need to use it in a home console unless there were size and thermal constraint considerations. But, the way PX2 (X2) is used in cars, they can be doubled up and scaled up, used on a Jetson motherboard and cranked up for higher perfomance.

You can pair up two PX2s for instance and up to 4 GPUS. I personally think going by the size and thickness of the Switch dock - that it has the same or similar internals as the Switch mobile unit. Two Tegra X2s that when working in tandem output the image at a higher resolution on the tv. Could reach up to 1 teraflop in performance with X1s, which is still lower than Xbox one but Nvidia flops are better so in real world tests could push past it. If they use X2s it should be 40-60% better with two of them. Or depending on what FP they use, 16 is twice as good as 32. But this is Nintendo so you should expect low. I think they will be customised X1s.

We know the CPUs in tegra are better than the ones in PS4 and Xb1 but the shader cores are vastly lower in Tegra.

Digital Foundry uses Trine 2 as a decent gauge of perfomance. It's better on Wii U than 360/PS3 at 720p 30 FPS with better graphics and physics.

On PS4 it's 1080p at 60 FPS. On Tegra X1 it's 1080p at 30 FPS - and thats with it using Android with no specific X1 coding. So I think at the minimum it will be able to do 1080p 30 FPS versions of 360/PS3 games. Like some of these definitive edition versions of old games on PS4 and X1.

I think Nintendo will aim for 1080p 60 fps versions of their games and that should be achievable for versions of Splatoon/MK8 etc. More importantly is anti-aliasing, decent image quality, nice clean lines.

I should end up owning a solid Wii U library, after all, before it's all said and done. Let's see, I have Mario Kart 8, Smash U (don't really care about it but it's already there so meh), Super Mario Cats (no use for mario/luigi u with this), Splatoon (lol), Nintendoland (actually pretty cool and fun family game), XCX, and even a couple party games such as MP10 and AC Amiibo Festival which aren't for super serious single player gaming but still a blast for family playing.

What am I missing besides weird shit I'm not getting such as Captain Toad or Wonderful 1001 or whatever? Bayonetta 2 could be a good one. Maybe Pikmin 3? I never played a Pikmin game before, maybe it is fun.

Interesting idea I saw. I assumed these were just slides to lock the joycons into place, but what if they doubled up as shoulder buttons for 2 player when you break them off the main unit.

EDIT:

Um, these are great games and not weird at all.
