I think that the Xbox One Slim, which in some ways is better then the PS4 Pro, changed things. Also I think people were expecting Sony to improve the specs of the Pro to more closely match those of the Scorpio.
I don't think that anyone was reasonably expecting Sony to bump the specs. People were just expecting that it'd be more sexy as a product I think. When the PS4K was first announced, there was this mysterious air of 'breaking' the generational mold, heading into exciting and uncharted (for consoles) territory. Turns out that there's very little reason to want a Pro over a regular PS4, the differences being closer to those between the N3DS and the 3DS and not how people expected it to turn out. Sure, the specs had been known for a long time, but people were still convincing themselves that there'd be more to it, that it'd be something revolutionary that they could get excited about. I also think that making all PS4's HDR enabled didn't help Sony, although it's a nice thing of them to do and a kick in the nuts for the XboneS.

Anaheim. Nintendo. GameStop. Let's get cozy.
For those that don't know, the Gamestop Expo starts this Wednesday.
If you look at his SnapChat (AttackSnap), in one of his story snaps he quickly turns the phone camera away from a television screen, saying "you weren't suppose to see that". He also mentions in another snap that he is rehearsing for something Nintendo-related at the expo.

XB1 slim is in no way better than PS4 Pro, it has an UHD Bluray drive, that is the extent of its benefits. Read the Digital Foundry article on PS4 Pro, there are some big graphical advantages, it's much more powerful than XB1 Slim, it's a 4.2 teraflop system vs XB1 at 1.3 teraflops. No one realistically expected Sony to amend Pro specs in light of Scorpio, we already knew it was too far along. Am I the only guy who reads the Digital Foundry articles?

I never read any of the rumored specs, just waited on what Sony presented. I really couldnt afford a new console but interested in if it MAY have been worth the upgrade.
Well, if you did read the Digital Foundry article on Pro it does sound like it is worth it..... if you can splash out for a 4KTV that is. But that will be the same for Scorpio. I can certain understand that if one already owns a PS4, I can see why people would be apathetic about upgrading, especially with NX and Scorpio releasing next year.

I dont think this is true. New 3DS doesn't have significantly better looking games over bog standard 3DS.
Pro can run PS3 ports at native 4K, PS4 games at somewhere over 3K then checkerboarded up to 4K. It can run PS4 games at 1080p with a host of graphical improvements or at double the framerate over PS4 standard.
But really, are people now immune to graphics boosts? How the hell is Scorpio and PS5 suppossed to capture the gaming market when all they are going to offer are the same sort of improvements you are now seeing today with PS4 Pro? Higher resolution for 4KTVs, framerate improvements, HDR etc
The Last Guardian has been delayed again. It's only an extra month, but who really knows if it won't happen again. I find this more amusing than I probably should.
Well I beg to differ about people expecting a bump in PS4 Pro specs after the Scorpio info release. Many expected Sony to announce the Pro at E3 and much of the forum talk was how Sony was a bit surprised by the Scorpio unveiling and thought that they would try and take the time before they announced it to try and bump up the specs a little.
Also the Xbox One Slim being able to play 4K blu-rays is very much something that makes it better then the PS4 Pro so saying that it is "no way better" is erroneous.

Yeah who knows what could happen to this game but I find it pretty amusing as well.
No Brady, no Gronk? No problem! Patriots still win while everyone else loses! I'm so happy I'm going to celebrate by going to the aquarium & watching some dolphins!
That would be the also excellent Bound in Blood. I don't know if Gunslinger is before or after The Cartel, that would make it the third or fourth game.

I love it. Would like to pick up sometime in the near future.
I finished Call of Juarez Gunslinger. Great game and a love letter to the western genre.

Was that the second one?
NX?

ReCore got a 6 at GameSpot.

The only reason the PS4 Pro exists is for Sony to sell 4K TVs. #4thegamers
I think that there was another reason as well and that was to make their PSVR a more viable peripheral.

The Last Guardian - optimized for the PS5 Ultra Pro.
