Recently returned to Dragon Age Inquisition to try and finish my play through on Nightmare difficulty. Been playing some Divinity Original Sin and played some of the Titanfall 2 multiplayer beta.
Been playing Monster Hunter 4. Great game, with a gentler learning curve and grind than I remember from Tri. Of course, that could be down to me already knowing the ropes. It also continues to amaze me how well this plays on the humble 3DS.
PS4 slim leaks ahead of september 7th reveal:
Interesting bit about the PS VR headset in the latest DF article:
Beyond that, while it's true that PSVR headset uses a lower resolution screen, it's sub-pixel arrangement helps to produce a very clean image while its optics minimise screen-door effect. In comparison, the Rift and Vive both use a pentile sub-pixel layout which has a negative impact on overall image quality. The difference manifests itself in the number of sub-pixels per pixel - an RGB matrix features three, while a pentile arrangement relies on just two. The higer resolution certainly results in a sharper image on the PC headsets, but PSVR compares favourably as a result of its RGB layout.
So Vader was right.
If it's possible, why not?

The PX2 setup in cars is scalable in 4 parts, 2 Tegras at 2.5 teraflops + 2 Pascal GPUs at 5 teraflops. The tech exists, NVidia has a high speed interface connection, the NVLink.
I don't think NX is one machine at this point. I think that NX will be a home console dock (potentially upgradable or two docks one basic one premium with different power levels), with a Pascal GPU in it that can play the cartridges and there will also be a Tegra Parker powered mobile at 1.25 terflops. Both handheld and home console can play the same games. And the home console can act as a dock and bridge both devices together boost the power.
Nintendo has a problem and that is how to satisfy both casuals and hardcores. Having a modular console with SCDs, which they have already patented - this is not someone blowing smoke up your ass - could be their solution, their way of saying, well you can have it as powerful as you want, if you're willing to pay.
They are constantly talking about having a Nintendo like solution to problems, one of which is this hybrid design, but another solution could be the SCDs because they have had console expansions before like the 64DD.
I'm all set with the PS4 slim apple tv looking thing.
I don't think that you can seperate casuals and hardcore gamers simply on the grounds of how much they'll want to pay for hardware. I also don't think that Nintendo cares for the higher end of the power spectrum. They care about power consumption, ease of access, those kinds of things. And those things don't add up with a very powerfull system, and even less so with an à la carte system where the end user choses how much they spend. Most of all, Nintendo cares about their bottom line. They can huff and puff all they want about new experiences with proven tech, but in the end it's just a smart way of masking that they don't want to spend the money to develop games to run on high end consoles. It's much cheaper lagging a generation behind. And that's also the reason why they won't go for an à la carte console. It's too expensive to make sure that their software would be optimalized for all SKU's. They'd harm their image, their wallet, and the consumers view of consoles being hassle free.
Having a handheld and a base console co-operate is nothing new. Having them play the same games isn't either. Having them share the whole library is a challenge as is. Don't throw in multiple SKU's... Say there were 3 handheld SKU's, 3 home console ones, that'd mean optimization for 11 different setups, possibly with different means of control. Insanity I says!
It looks cute. Could have used a handle though.
It needs to come in a variety of colors.
That was pretty much the same for me up until I got to the post-game levels. The advanced quests of fighting two diseased/enraged (or whatever the term was) monsters gets hard very quickly. Progression speed has definitely plummeted for me since.
Purple would be nice I think.
I don't like takling multiple monsters at a time. Just feels cheap. Unless one of them is what you'd consider a 'weaker' one, like the Lagombi and Zamtrios quest. I'm still feeling confident I'll manage, as I've been using underpowered gear up to now. No matching Seltas Queen armour for me.
Fuck off Mario
