That one in the middle is stupidly big.
I anna play as a dongongongongorongo
I have no idea what you're saying.
It's a fan edit fake.
Most people I see on the internet on GAF or even here, when they are talking about this gen - they aren't complaining about the quantity of released games but how familiar they are to each other. So it's not about having way too many games - it's about there not being enough variety to interest people who want that. Which is why you're seeing people saying things like "this is the most boring gen" - or "there's nothing that interests me" etc.
That's how I interpret it.
Fan edit my ass, it's just a slightly darkened version of the vista shown in 2014:
Downgrade I tells ya!
People say that but I disagree. People have said that in the previous 3 gens too.
Like right now in terms of games from this gen, I have on my slate:
I mean, how much more variety do you need?
Personally I have never seen this level of apathy in past generations.
Project Scorpio won't have any exclusives
No exclusives, no benefit on a 1080p tv, sounding better by the day Phil
Scorpio won't do anything for you if you don't have a 4K TV
Spencer says - Still running a 1080p TV? Then you should forget about buying Xbox Scorpio.
XB1 S Extra CPU, GPU power "will have no impact at all" Microsoft says
Xbox One S will have "literally no impact" on game performance, says Microsoft
Shoots down reports the new system's hardware will provide boosts to frame rate and resolution.
Seriously what am I reading here? So the BOSS of Xbox is saying that unless you have a 4KTV you should NOT buy Scorpio. And assuming it's primed for VR you should NOT buy one if you don't own or plan to own an expensive VR headset, either. The Boss of Xbox is saying it will have NO exclusives. All games will play on XB1 and should you buy a Scorpio it will give you no benefit on your 1080p tv. What the fuck is the point of launching it then?
And to top things off, the XB1 S - despite having extra CPU and GPU power, it will "literally have no impact at all" on game performance. WTF?? They could have used the opportunity to slightly bump up XB1 S specs so it could match if not slightly exceed PS4.
So Spencer is saying if you own a 1080p tv don't buy a Scorpio - buy an XB1 instead. But then you look at XB1 and the answer is simple: get a PS4 instead because it's more powerful, has better support and is probably cheaper too
. I mean seriously wtf? I've never seen an exec come out and say 'don't buy our product' before.
Well the Scorpio IS going to be the best console out there...pretty much what the Xbone should have been. Its beyond Neo and well, yeah NX probably won't match either. It doesn't make sense to say don't buy it to play on a 1080p tv though...I mean the games could still run better...VR games will still make it where to go, etc. I'd say the "don't play on a 1080p tv" motto would be better aimed at the Xbone s console, since that one is simply designed for 4k tv viewing with nothing gaming related. Spencer doesn't make any sense sometimes. This would be like saying back in the day on the original Xbox "well we designed this with widescreen and digital surround in mind, so don't buy it if you're playing on a 4:3 tube tv with no digital stereo". WTF?
I don't buy for a minute that all games will remain playable on the old PS4/Xbone that they're trying to say. Bullshit. VR games won't...otherwise, what's the point? The Scorpio is powerful enough to be a true next-gen system. And it is....as I said we won't see new consoles after next year until at least 2021. They're not going to spend time developing these and then just replace them. The base model Xbone will get phased out and then more and more games will maybe not REQUIRE the Scorpio or Neo, but will damn well play a hell of a lot smoother on them. Almost like with PC....yeah Vladimir can play this brand new cutting edge game on his 8 year old GPU with crappy settings, sure. But is it the same experience that Igor is having down the street with his brand new gtx 1080? LOL no.
This is what will happen with these consoles, mark my fuckin' words. But Spencer...don't buy it to play on a 1080p tv? What if you want better playing games and a faster machine? Fuckin' nimrod.
The internet is full of apathy.
I'd argue there's more game variety now than there was 10 years ago.
Agree, mostly. They will eventually phase out the consoles that launched in 2013 like they are dropping PS3/360 versions quietly this gen.
I don't get the no exclusives thing though. It means that on a machine that is 6 teraflops, the design of your game is going to constrained by the 1.2 teraflop XB1 because it has to run on it. And if it's not worth buying a Scorpio unless you have to fork out for a damned expensive 4KTV, it makes it kinda irrelevant unless you are dead set on buying an expensive VR headset. Either way... this is not going to be cheap.
So even Scorpio wont do native 4k and neither will Neo:
"Sony's technological advantage will be gone with the next wave of hardware - we already know that it cannot support true 4K resolution on cutting-edge games, because we've seen the internal documents that outline Sony's upscaling strategies for 4K display support (more on that soon). It's also unfeasible for Sony to produce a radically revised Neo - the silicon has been designed, developer kits have gone out. Matching Scorpio would require scrapping Neo's existing processor completely."
I really can't stand this "new iteration halfway through a generation" thing.
I feel that it gimps the hardware significantly by having it tied down for "version parity" reasons, and that I have to worry about missing the best offerings to play my games every few years.
One of the site's forefathers.
Well I don't have a 4K tv and I'll be buying a Scorpio, in fact I'm really looking forward to buying one.
Phil is telling you not to. Listen to Phil, mindless robot human.
There are no strings on me!
Let this gif convince you
I just watched the trailer for Prey...wow that looks really good. I really like the direction. They should remaster the original game before it comes out. That's a game that could really use a remaster...early 360 game with a cult following, remind everyone about it etc.
