Digital Foundry - Nintendo 3DS vs New 3DS
It tells us that the initial launch hardware was unbalanced, that the GPU was left severely under-utilised, owing to a severe lack of CPU resourceseurogamer.net gamingeek
GC was excellent but the lack of platformers hurts. Wii is the better system of the two. Wii u is the worst console Nintendo ever made.
Yeah.. for platformers the closest we got was... well Viewtiful Joe, but that's a brawler. It is an interesting question really, what platofrmers did we have on the game cube? I-Ninja is a good one.
There were collections from previous generations, but they would not count.
Off the top of my head:
Super Mario Sunshine
Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat
Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc
Sonic Adventure
Sonic Adventure 2
Billy Hatcher & The Giant Egg
Tak series
Vexx
Alien Hominid
Wario World
SMSunshine is not a platformer. And the rest of those are not exclusives. Not bithcing or anything, nor was i-ninja. But yeah, you got me on Jungle Beat. An awesome ass, awesome platformer.
You know why the SNES is ultimately far far superior to the Genesis? The controller. 3 buttons vs. 6. Playing Street Fighter II and even Mortal Kombat on the Genesis was ridiculous because you were playing a gimped version unless you shelled out money for a better controller.
Kind of like masturbating to porn when your hot girlfriend is in the next room. (hypothetically speaking).
Not an entirely inaccurate comparison. There are a few things I am finding about Stardew Valley that I like but I'm also finding a few that I don't. I will give some detailed impressions after another hour or so of gameplay.
I wonder if the Snes had released at the same time as Genesis, and the Genesis never got anywhere near as popular as it did because of the Snes destroying it, if THAT would have been the end of SEGA consoles? Or maybe the Saturn would have been and the Dreamcast would have never existed? Crazy.
The Genesis became popular because of Sonic, great for third parties, could rent games, and that it was marketed as a "mature" console. Even if the SNES was released in the same time it would have likely gained ground.
And Goemon is based on a hystorical Japanese Robin Hood type character that may or may not have been a ninja. In folklore he is.

man's got a point.
This was a great Genesis game:

Fun fact: when I traded in my Genesis I got more for that controller than I did for any game that I owned.
