I'm loving it so far. Yes, it rips off Metroid, could actually be Metroid 2 on NES, but it's fun. I made it to the first boss so far. Visually, it's metroid, but control-wise, it feels more akin to Super Metroid.
I absolutely LOVE it... While I've played the original Metroid to DEATH, a game that mimics it, is RIGHT up my alley! It may look like an 8-bit title, but the responsiveness of the controls and the variety of weapons and enemies, it feels modern too... It's kinda akin to Mega Man 9 and 10 to me, new but old school. The very fact that this is a labor of love by ONE MAN is incredible to me. This guy REALLY gets the feel of Metroid, Contra and all the best 8-bit games down to a tee!
That new Deus Ex sounds amazing! Yes, I'm excited for games that I wasn't for before, now that I have a console to play them on. I'm glad I waited on Mordor and Alien Isolation. I'm very interested in Witcher III now, though I feel ill hold off on it and pick up Splatoon first. Any good $10 recommendations for PS4? I got a few code for ten dollars. I wish the Batman sale applied towards the new system. I'd love to double(triple) on one of those games.

I actually got to the Second Boss, and haven't been able to kill him yet... being lazy! I've been juggling Axiom. Bloodborne and Toukiden Kiwami, so I haven't spent as much time with it as I'd like, yet!
You'll get a VERY traditional three-bullet Spread gun, soon enough!
Although it starts out firing at VERY close range, if you explore nooks and crannies, you'll find power-ups that increase the SIZE of your projectiles, their power, etc... They are well hidden, usually behind those pulsating red destroyable pieces of platform... Shoot everything you see!!
I'll see about Bloodborne, but I don't think you get the items to initiate co-op play until you play quite a bit into the game... You might not get them for a while!
You know what series I'm surprised we don't see anymore? The Project Rub/Feel the Magic/Rub Rabbits games.
This was a simple fun game. Even if it's not a full retail release it screams digital game. Hell it's completely touch based so it would work as mobile games. God damn Sega is stupid.
I really, really want Dying Light. It seems like my kind of action adventure game.
That is awesome!

I'm glad you mentioned Contra. That first upgrade should've been called " The Spreader."
Wait... Isn't the first upgrade The Nova? The one that bursts after pressing the button again after firing?
I only ask that because you actually DO get a "Spreader" also...
...just a little later in the game!

But the nova spreads after you fire several shots. That's what I first thought of.

So what do you guys say, help a poor schmo out with Bloodborne tomorrow?
This is the Nova just after you detonate it's bullet... to the far right...
Yep, and the boss I'm on.

Alien Isolation is great so far. I'd give it an A for presentation. It really feels like you are a part of the 70's movie.
Yeah, that's exactly what I thought when I tried it out not long ago. They totally nailed down the movie feeling.
