Almost finished this (whether I will be able to or not is another thing), which would be GOTY if it had a fast forward button, but it doesn't so it probably isn't:
Still playing Dark Souls 2, working on killing Darklurker. But, sorry, having to use effigies to do it is some lame bullshit. Some MMORPG bullshit.
Don't know if anyone here is going to be able to relate to this, mainly because it has to do with Etrian Odyssey, Persona and Shin Megami Tensei...
I am loving Persona Q. It has the challenge and obsessive map drawing of Etrian. It has the incredible style of the recent Persona games, from the interface look to the attitude to the voices to the music... SUPER high production values, just like Persona 3 & 4...
...but it lets you Use and Fuse Demons like you would in a Shin Megami game.
It's gonna sound silly, but I don't know how I feel about that. Persona is a great series. Shin Megami is an AWESOME series, but I kinda liked them as SEPARATE entities. I know they share A LOT in common, like their graphical styles and spell names... BUT, one has always been a series about teens in real-ish world settings, using realistic weapons in addition to fantasy ones in HIGH SCHOOLS where supernatural events that magnify teen-like issues occur. You deal with teen relationships and drama, just grossly exaggerated.
Shin Megami games deal with the end of the world. Either they feature bringing about the end of the world or dealing with life AFTER the end of the world. They have religious themes and moral dilemmas throughout and they are more... mature...(?)
+ + =
They are NOT the same thing! I actually used to get annoyed when they referred to Persona as a Shin Megami game in the US because that was incorrect...
...now even Atlus is doing it! I don't know why it irks me so much, but it does!
Like I said, I doubt anyone will be able to relate to what I just said, I just wanted to vent a tiny bit.
I went to the UFO museum in Roswell, they had a ton of newspapers and written statements from those involved. Some cool stuff but its mostly just clippings, obviously since there is zero physical evidence. Something clearly happened then but I still highly doubt it was an alien.
Oh and I was in such a small town in the middle of nowhere I actually saw a tumbleweed rool past me! My life is now complete.
I felt the same way when I saw my first tumbleweed. I started talking like the cowboy in the Big Lewbowski.
Wow Vader that's such a well written review. You truly have a talent and skill for writing video game reviews. I bet you are sought after to write for major internet sites all around the world wide web.
That's pretty good of Ubisoft with the free dlc and free game but I wonder why they scrapped the season pass dlc.
Not really. The reasonable thing would be a refund for the people who bought something that doesn't exist under false pretences. But by Ubisoft's standards it's probably a miracle. Oh well, it makes Namco look better.
Not to pile on, but that is what I was going to say. If a product is broken, the best apology is a refund.
Anyone else bought the Mario Kart 8 DLC? Cool shit. I've been playing it all morning. I really like how on the Hyrule Castle course, they changed the coins to Rupees.
I sold MK to buy Smash.
Very Solomonic. I respect the decision, though I myself would not have made it.
With Smash coming out this was Nintendo's last chance to get the full price for the console. Once the Smash hype is over and done with I suspect we'll finally see the price drop. Mid March or April I'm betting.
In the year 2029, humanity faces certain extinction. An alien force led by Supreme Commander Vile Malmort is poised to destroy the Earth. Our greatest scientists were assembled to stop this menace. From their laboratory came mankind's last hope: S.C.A.T., the Special Cybernetic Attack Team! Featuring one or two-player simultaneous action, fly your jetpack-equipped warrior through five challenging stages swarming with enemies. Use multiple weapon systems and your orbiting cannon pods to clear a path and put an end to Vile Malmort's plans! This is the US version of the game.
Sony won't learn, won't they? You'd think that after the whole white PSP, black PSP thing they'd be a bit more cautious. If it's an online only add, I don't see much of a problem. If it'd air on TV, yeah, I could see how that could be a tad discomforting to some.
The Shin'en link isn't working Deep inside I hope that the game will be good, but seeing how long it's already been in development, I fear for the outcome.

--End!
As a side note: They also sneak in quite a few Catherine references, so I guess you could consider the entire game just a bunch of fan-service...
...
...but it still irks me!
So persona q is like shin megami 8?
Walking dead! I can't even! My mind is blown!
And yet I can play it on a PS3.
I felt the same way when I saw my first tumbleweed. I started talking like the cowboy in the Big Lewbowski.
Tom Towers agrees, Vader was listed as one of his favorite reviewers. Even after reading my reviews of Sammy Sosa Softball Slam and Matchbox Caterpiller Construction Zone I did not make it into that upper echelon.

I think you are spot on.

Not anymore. He never replied to my DS2 question, so he's now in my list of worst reviewers (pompous asses with no respect for their fans).
wtf there's a NES game called SCAT?

Leo, howlongtobeat says the new Binding of Isaac is one hour long to beat...30 hours+ for everything else. How does that work?
Beating a dungeon goes pretty quickly. Uncovering all the secrets, tokens, items, monsters, hidden characters... not so much!
Totally worth playing though and there's another expansion coming!
