Careful you don't cause a mistrial by leaking stuff here.
"Yamauchi always said 'Nintendo is an entertainment company and should never be anything else', but he didn't necessarily think 'entertainment equals video games'," he explained.
"I was wondering how to express Yamauchi's feelings, and I thought about it non-stop, even during the New Year's holiday break.
"Recently the words 'quality of life' have been coming up regularly. Entertainment is there to improve people's quality of life. After your basic needs, there's entertainment. However, when it came to improving people's quality of life, I didn't know the difference between us and household appliance makers.
"At the start of this year, I finally figured that the concept of 'improving people's quality of life with fun,' with emphasis on the 'fun', would be perfect for Nintendo.
With fun. So... Wii Fit?
Child of Light reviews:
GamesRadar: 4.5/5 - Child of Light is many things: a fantastic, engaging RPG that doesn't overstay its welcome; a game with incredible art design and an equally impressive soundtrack; a virtual fairy tale whose characters are cool with sacrificing clarity so long as doing so means pulling off a sick rhyme. (I jest, it's endearing, really.) It's a memorable, creative experience that's more than worthy of the asking price.

Ugh, watching this news report on Syria, makes me feel guilty for enjoying COD games. It looks like a living hell, the whole city is devastated, the govt is dropping bombs randomly on people, it killed a 4 year old and they just dug a kid no older than my nephew, from under 4 feet of rubble from a bomb that dropped from a copter.

If they're harking back to ye olde days, the first thing that springs to mind to me are their light gun shooting alleys. For all it's worth, we could be seeing the birth of Nintendo Fitness Centers.
Seriously though, with all the directions Nintendo has taken home gaming in the last couple of years, this new angle has to be something way out there. Quality of Life could mean anything. If they're referring to actual health, it's either going to be something akin to a Fitbit, or either some huge hybrid between an arcade machine and a fitness thingamagik. Will it double back on their home console business in any way, or will it just use their expertise in software creation or their IP's? Personally, I'm thinking the latter.
It could be a mechanic Pikachu to keep the elderly company, an army of little Pikmin that keep your house tidy, a home domotica system with Dr. Kawasaki's floating head as your personal assistant. A lawn mower with built in minigame that has you searching for rubies while doing the lawn. A personal assistant for your smartphone based around Navi. A huge metagame akin to streetpass with hardware no bigger then a coin so you can always carry it around with you.
The possibilities are endless. But I fear that whatever it will end up being, it'll be undoubtly japanese and neigh on impossible to sell to the western market.
From Nintendo:
Nice looking reviews overall for Child of Light. The Edge review is pretty nasty, but I think Edge reviews tend to be that way. All that aside, why do I have absolutely no interest in playing it?
So I ended up sitting in a room at the courthouse until 12...then we were allowed to take a 2 hour lunch. Yes, 2 fucking hours.
Came back at 2....sat there again until 2:30 until finally myself and about half of the jurors were told to go down to a courtroom. We walk in the room, sit down for like 5 minutes. Its a civil case. The lawyers walk out of the room with the people they're working for. Judge walks in.....says thanks for all your time and effort. They decided to settle the case as soon as they saw the jury walk in.
Go back to the waiting room and we're told we can go home. And I have to do it all over again tomorrow.
So literally a whole day sitting there just to walk into a courtroom and sit down for 5 minutes.
It's good to get paid for that.
I think Nintendo should just start making MORE games. Especially on their home consoles.
Star Fox, F-Zzero, Kid Icarus, Star Tropics, plus a whole slew of other forgotten IP to go along with all the new IP they could be making would be an excellent compliment to Mario, Zelda, and Smash.
$15 per day. That will cover my girlfriend's birthday gift.
I got $30...for a half hour of sitting.
One look at you and they settled, you have a future in law me thinks.

So Nintendo is releasing two games for 3DS on friday, two games on the same day again. Why is Nintendo doing this?
To annoy you.
I might pick it up. I really want to buy me some extra games for my 3DS, but I just can't seem to get excited about any of them. This and Mario Golf are strong contenders though. I loved Mario Golf on the GBA and GC, but it seems that with the arrival of DLC, the actual content included on the cart is a bit slim when compared to previous offerings.
