GG got Deus Ex? AWESOME!!
Like I said man, one of my favorite games of the generation. It has a really great vibe and atmosphere to it, almost Perfect Darkish, but doesn't play like a shooter or an RPG but maybe a nice mix of RPG, Stealth, and FPS. I really wish there was more games like it. I want to grab it too, but its hard to find in the stores around here. Maybe this week.
Ooops....forgot there are people interested in baseball here who can't watch it while its going on.
Not your fault. Yeah, we are getting them 2 days later down here, so I have been avoiding general news and sports sites.
Sadly no, feels like such a waste playing shooters with no gyro or IR aiming. Gyro aiming is as accurate as IR in Wind waker but there's no bounding box so you can't play it like a fps. Strangely Deus ex does use the gyros for taking in game photos.
I would prefer if it played like Splinter Cell, 3rd person. Cool vibe though and decent options, shame you can't change the button mapping. Love the perfect dark vibe. Pressing a button to round corners is a bit off in cover. Would love Crysis 2 cover controls.
So.... this high capacity u battery hasn't drained out yet. Pretty cool. Still heavy though.
wtf is this hacking malarkey about?
When the fuck does the Wii U battery come out in the US?
When Reggie beats Animal Crossing.
Apart from the first level the game looks very clean and sharp, smooth too. Like the game a lot but it could be better in the controls dept, it's not bad or anything but with a few tweaks could have been super fluid awesome. Wish there was a 3rd person/1st person toggle so I could stealth like splinter cell shoot like Crysis 2.
Love the re4 style inventory. U pad has tons of features and it feels good but should be more tactile and responsive with better audio ques. You can't slide the realtime map so you have to hit the map icon to give you a movable map. Game has touch screen inventory too but what's coolest is the guide and all articles, web stuff appears on the pad, feels very immersive like you actually have a gadget in the game world coming into the real world. Kinda 4th wall breaking.
Digital Foundry: What is your experience with the ESRAM on Xbox One? How do you utilise it in Ryse? Is 32MB really enough for the high-bandwidth rendering elements you'd want to utilise? How important is allocating graphics between DDR3 and ESRAM for Xbox One development?
Cevat Yerli: We put our most accessed render targets like the G-Buffer targets into ESRAM. Writing to ESRAM yields a considerable speed-up. While 32MB may not be enough to use something like MSAA to the fullest, with a smart memory management strategy it is possible to deal with that.
Digital Foundry: The Xbox One has dedicated audio processing hardware that is not present in PS4 or PC (wii u does). How do you utilise it in Ryse?
Cevat Yerli: Essentially the hardware is performing calculations on audio data, handling the decode of audio that is encoded in XMA, Microsoft's proprietary, designed-for-game-audio, encode/decode compression algorithm. It takes weight off the main processing cores by using this optimised processor, which is approximately twice as powerful as the 360's, which means we can have higher voice counts
