'Freaks' and tweaks: ZombiU's winding path to launch
"One year ago, trying to make such an ambitious game, it [was] a bit stupid, I think. It has been tough. It has been a huge amount of work, but it's done."

" This version of ME3 seems a lot less visually stable than, say, the Xbox 360 version -- the frame rate is choppier, the animation seems rougher."

Great pics.
I'm really liking Halo 4...I beat all the Spartan Ops missions on Legendary, been playing the shit out of the online multi-player...and made a good dent in the campaign. Its definitely not hugely different from what has been done before, but it honestly feels more polished and satisfying than any of the Bungie made games sans Combat Evolved. 343 did a great job on this one.
I played. multiplayer last night, it's all very well done. Now I can't play it for a week.
Honestly when I get home I probably won't play it for a whole
Ummm... Borderlands 2 is out already...
COD? Break it down for me, the single player only. I was thinking of getting it gifted to me for Christmas, but only because it has IR support.
I don't get how an unfinished Xbox launch game still tops the list of Halo with most people.
All this praise for the sequels then > yeah Halo 1 is still better. Shouldn't they have been able to top it by now, especially as Halo 1 was rushed out to market before it was finished? The last third of the game was a mindless repeat, the Library was a joke.
And yes, it still is my no 1 Halo game.
I'm just saying, how do the sequels still get praised so much when they cannot top this old game? I'm pretty sure that new versions of most Xbox/GC/PS2 era games top them. I feel a thread coming on.
Quick poll time peeps.
Best Halo game?
Me:
I haven't played 4 or ODST.
Well they've all been high quality games, even Halo 2. Sure the campaign was crap compared to Halo 1, but it was still better than pretty much any other console FPS at the time. And each game since Halo 2 has also had the great online multi-player. For me Halo 1 still gets the nod just because IMO that game had the best vibe, atmosphere, mystery, and easily some of the best levels out of any game in the franchise.
Plus, since it was the original, it had the benefit of being new and fresh and really seting the bar for every console FPS after it.
I'm in the middle of Halo 4 right now, which is definitely one of the better games in the franchise. But still, it doesn't have that complete WOW factor that Halo 1 had, so how can I rate it higher?
I should have.
You can rate it higher if objectively it's a better game.
This. Halo 1 was crazy at the time, huge wow factor and like Edge said still some of the very best level designs. The last few levels were great, library was not. Its really about the scale of the battles, no Halo really attempted them except parts of Halo 3 but even those areas weren't as big. And the story, flow and excitment level was better then any Halo game too. As amazing as the online multiplayer has become no Halo game has replicated the magic of having LAN party multiplayer sessions in Halo 1.
Its just 5 oclock here in NYC but it looks like its 7. Where is the sun.
2006 was what... another end of a generation. At least 06 was already on its way to a new gen. This gen needs to end now
Someone posted this over at cheapassgamer a favorite haunt of mine I find this news to be bothersome. It shows the weakness of Nintendo's online plan, and the lack of a solid foundation for DLC , online gaming going forward. DON'T LIKE!
He was able to confirm that Activision updated them, and Nuketown 2025 is not coming to the Wii U.
He apologized and gave me a small credit for the issue.
I was curious before because they had emailed me a code that looked like this XXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX saying it was a preorder code. It turns out this is the code for the $5 video promo credit that is already applied to your account after it ships.
That is a big bummer and it has larger implications about the weakness of Nintendo's online plan. I find this distressing
Halo: CE, by far. Halo 4 is looking like it'll be a close second, though.

This gen is not over yet. Next year has some strong games:
Bioshock Infinite
Last Of Us
Gear of War [Not 4]
GTA5
Are likely locks. The rest are in the hopeful category:
DmC
Tomb Raider
Crysis 3
Maybe Southpark RPG if THQ can scrape together some money.
