'Freaks' and tweaks: ZombiU's winding path to launch
"One year ago, trying to make such an ambitious game, it [was] a bit stupid, I think. It has been tough. It has been a huge amount of work, but it's done."

Mass Effect 3 on Wii U features, graphical, audio issues?
" This version of ME3 seems a lot less visually stable than, say, the Xbox 360 version -- the frame rate is choppier, the animation seems rougher."

I just Pre-ordered Epic Mickey 2 (PS3).
Yeah, I'm really looking forward to Tomb Raider, Bioshock Infinite, and Last of Us.
You choose POORLY.
I just played the Epic Mickey Power of Illusion demo, WOW! Now that is a great demo. The first level has the music from Castle and it plays the same but slowly you are allowed to use new moves like the paint. Soon after I found the Beast and tell him to go to the fortress. As the level goes on you gain the power to paint things into the world using the touch screen.
ANNOYING alert, the drawing stops all the action while you have to trace an outline or erase a drawing. This takes a while and a lot of it repeats, i can see this becoming annoying. That said I did see some nice uses of drawing in or erasing stuff to get through the levels but if it were more instantaneous it would be better. This game is part drawing game as it grades you on how well you trace, the better the trace the better the item you get or something.
Later you get a sketch which is a special power you get to draw into the world at any time (the other stuff is highlighted on the world). You earn more of these laters and I bet they will be used to find secrets. The second level is Captain Hooks boat and you get to draw in Peter Pan who helps you throughout the level. I found the Lost Boys which help you out with some enemies. Characters are all over the level and as you find them you send them to the fortress.
The fortress is a hub level where you talk to the NPCs you rescue, they all have their own room which is from their movie. They give you quests when you talk to them like Rapunzel needs a comb, Scrooge needs money, etc. Some stuff you find in the hub, like Beast has a comb but others are found in the different levels. You can level up the rooms so that the characters upgrade your skills. For instance I upgraded Scrooges room to the point where he opened a shop for me to buy upgrades. It is super cool and the amount of Disney characters is going to be massive. It adds so much to this game so that it isnt just a simple platformer. The demo ends on a Hook boss battle, dont get to play it but I see you will be making use of drawing to beat him.
This is the Epic Mickey game to get.
Next year looks awesome.
**ahem!**
I'm actually --VERY-- worried about BioShock Infinite...
Assassin's Creed 3 for Wii U is on its way...this will be my first Wii U game I get my hands on it looks like.
I am in the middle of a Halo 4 level that may be the most annoying Halo level since The Library.
Anyone know it?
As should we all.
Why?
Cause of the horror stories coming from within about what a complete disaster the production of the game is.
I've avoided these stories.
I'd like to think that if its being made by the same team that did Bioshock 1 that they wouldn't have too much of a problem creating this game. I will be very disappointed if it ends up crap.
By the way, Travo, I started playing Sticker Star! Graphics and 3D are solid and beautiful! I actually --LOVE-- the Super Mario World-like map and game structure. The toning down of the RPG elements don't bother me, either. I would always just invest all of my Skill Points in Attacks and Specials anyway, so the way this plays is almost no different for me. I actually --LIKE-- the almost Card-Based like combat... Reminds me of Baten Kaitos or games like that for some reason. It's more puzzle-like and skill based than I expected and I have NO PROBLEM with that!
It sounds as if Levine has taken on Molyneaux's spot in the industry for making promises that are impossible to keep. I think the extra development time has been due to scrapping A LOT of what they were planning and trying to re-develop the game into a more traditional BioShock game. I'd actually be VERY surprised if it turned out NOT to be JUST like BioShock One.
LOL these local New York commercials. I saw one for some liquor joint where the tag is your head will explode and peoples heads exploded into confetti. Some lawyer speaking broken spanish. Every place has its share of funny bad local commercials so NY is not alone.
Tomorrow I will probably visit the city, got to see Nintendo store, i bet they have all the Wii U demos. I have been wanting to catch the spider man broadway show so I may try to get tickets to that.
Infinite's lack of presence at this year's E3, along with the push back to 2013 "to add multiplayer" only to have it yanked, combined with the mass exodus of staff is what worries me about Infinite.
I am guessing also that all that cable riding stuff will turn out to be...dun dun dun... on-rails.
But I have so many unplayed games. I was going to start either 999 or Kingdom Hearts now. Leaning toward KH, Epic Mickey demo got me in the mood.
