By playing it safe, n-Space may be missing an opportunity here, and if there's one thing worse than failure, it's mediocrity.

With ALL the Vita Games and all the OTHER games at TGS, two Destructoid Editor's chose to gush over a 3DS game everyone formerly thought was a bad joke:
_____________________________
Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy: It seems strange that my three most anticipated TGS games are all portable or downloadable games, as opposed to boxed-retail epics. I can’t deny my love of Final Fantasy and the great soundtracks that have complimented series entries over the years. Although I only got to demo the game very briefly, I fell absolutely in love with its touch interface that somehow improves on the Elite Beat Agents format. The way you “play” a song links to the music in way I didn’t expect. I’m not sure how all the game ties together or how you level-up, but I’m sure I will have a hard time prying myself away from this one. As laughable as the concept might have sounded coming into TGS, shit just got real.
Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy: Here's how it went: I had an appointment with Square Enix to play several of their games. I ran into the room where the appointment was, rudely bypassing everyone and everything, cutting in front of another press member to move directly to where a 3DS sat. I knew what was on it: Theatrhythm. I pushed a button and giggled out loud. Then I played and played. Laughed and played. I played all the songs available, some of them two or three times. I love this game. I kept saying it aloud, telling anyone who would listen. It's Final Fantasy fan service mixed with the series' best songs to make a great little rhythm game. Hey, I love this game. I love this game.

This is sort of how it started with the DS. After it had been out for a while the bitching slowly started to die down and then out of nowhere everyone started talking about some weird Japanese game called Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan . Then more established names started to come out for the system... and then it took over the world.
"Behind every gennocide there is a philosophy..." ???? WHAT THE FUCK?? Got to admit, that's how you get someone's attention to watch a trailer. Utterly fucked up way to do it, but effective none the less. I guess I will watch the Sine Mora preview.
...and after watching it I can't say I'm interested in the least. Would have also been nice to know what system that was for. When promoting a game that's a key piece of information you want to get across. No wonder Grasshoper games tend to tank.
DL'able for PS3 and XBLA.
It's about that time again! I've been putting some power-hours into this game this weekend:
___________
**A certain RoF member with the initials GME has also been spotted in the wee hours of the morning grindin' this game too!**
___________
Played this game as well!
**I think I understand now where the "Trip" comes from in Bit.Trip!**
___________
How about you gentlemen?
I looked it up and learned it for myself, but that wasn't really the point. The whole time I watched the video I assumed it was for the 3DS since it looked a little rough. I was very wrong. But that's just marketing 101. Explain what you product is, what its for, and where you can get it.
Plants v. Zombies is sadly the only thing I've really played much of this week. Really for the past two weeks. I've had some serious gamer burn-out and just haven't had much interest in anything. I'm hoping DQM:Joker 2 fixes that, though I have to admit I'm not even overly sure I want to play that.
I finished Deus EX, then moved on to Resistance 2 and Gears of War2, in preparation for Tuesday.
Why? What's on Tuesday?
Oh! That's right the new Kirby game and Dragon Quest Monsters!
WOO!
Where's Steel been for the last few days?
I wondered that, myself. Steel!!
