I didn't expect this to be a "someday" purchase for you. I thought with the Resident Evil 4 gameplay this would be a Day One!

I have reached the point where I am just getting angry with my buying habits. I have like 5 major games I still need to play sitting on my shelf and a ton of games I want to go back and replay to see more content. On top of that I have a million downloaded games just sitting in my PSN. Not to mention portable games but i save those for my trips but I find that when I am away i dont feel like playing games much. I cant freeze time, I just keep buying games even though I dont have the time to finish any of them. And that is that I still have plenty of free time, its not like I have kids or a girlfriend and I get plenty of days off. How in the hell do you family guys do this.
I used to platinum almost every game I got. Now I just beat it quickly and move on to the next game. I still haven't finished the MK challenge tower, I would love to do that. I haven't touched Portal 2 co-op mode. I forget that I own Gran Turismo 5. I have like 4 racing games I have hardly touched, why do I buy racing games? I want to go back and replay some old favorites, that is why I bought them right, to play them again? I want to platinum Uncharted 2, ratchet ACIN, LA Noire and more. I want to play Demon's Souls again. I want to play Batman again to get ready for the new one. But I cant cause I still have stuff I need to play, one of them being a 100 hour game in Fallout New Vegas.
So what have I been playing, Infamous 2, lots of it. Hoping to finish it before I leave again on Thursday. But i want to play Outland cause its so cool. And I haven't really touched Dead Nation. I bought NBA2K11 last week and haven't played it much. And I have a bunch of BTTF episodes to play. I bought LA Noire DLC that I haven't touched. My friend finally wants to play Portal 2 so I can finally play that. Oh and there are free Genesis games to play which will disappear soon, GME has been my Genesis playing buddy, we played some Streets of Rage 2 last night. I still would love to play MK or Uncharted with you guys, speaking of which Uncharted 3 beta soon!
I am going to try my best and not buy any games until Deus Ex which is the next game I really really want. But I see deals and I become idiotic. As if I beat the system for getting a game for like $20, it just ends up on a shelf. I need to go back to when every game I played was precisious and I played them fully.

I understand exactly what you mean though: When you spend more time trying to schedule gaming time and trying to prioritize what games you want to play... When you get to the point where, even when you HAVE time to play, you DON'T... something is amiss!
It's exactly WHY I keep so few games at a time!
Having too many games at once overwhelms me into feeling exactly what you are describing.
I have 12 games right now and I am starting to feel it. I can't even begin to imagine what I would do if I were in your shoes!
Oh I forgot, I am buying RE Mercs next week so that and Deus Ex are the only two games I plan to buy for a while. Then the storm hits... its going to be a crazy holiday season.
Oh how can I forget LBP2 in my rant. I feel so bad about it. My experience with LBP1 and this one is so different cause with LBP1 I sunk everything into it, I fully enjoyed it. LBP2 I finished it and play a few levels here and there. I never even finished my Meh level.
Ok break over, time to dive back into playing. Must finish some games, any games, must trim backlog.
It's gonna sound silly, and I know it's not feasible for you to do --BUT-- what I find helps is:
I know all of this is easier said then done and sounds pretty elementary, but the clarity it brings to your mind was a major part in how I was finishing sooo many games at the end of last year and the beginning of this year! Just a thought!
There's no need. Every single level in the LBP games is "Meh".
