Maybe they didnt do it but they know another hacker did, I doubt this is some random thing that happened at Sony coincidentaly right after a promised hacker attack when PSN has worked fine for years. They probably know who did it and yet they act like Sony is making it up.

But it was Sony that shut down PSN, not the hackers. Sony did that cause PSN was comprimized by hackers, but we still do not know what was done. Perhaps people were stealing credit card info? We still do not have the reason why Sony shut it down. They are rebuilding PSN, so it can take a while so it was probably something serious.

And why would they know who did it, if we assume they did not do it? Hackers do not have a Legion of Doom meetings or something. It is mostly individuals.
