Phantasy Star Online 2. It looks like shit, honestly. The ranged gameplay looks more fun than before since it's very third person shooter like this time, without crazy movement limitations, but melee doesn't seem updated at all and I dislike the juggles. Also, it's PC only yet looks like a PS2 game, horrible textures and all. Random Korean MMOs do more to advance the graphics while still being scalable. And lol @ the newman chick's anatomy...

I have realized that nothing will ever replicate the magic of PSO. The enemies look cool in PSO2 and I like the jumping around but it does look like the same thing again.

I think it could be great again, but they need to modernize it somehow. That game looks like a Dreamcast sequel that would have come out in 2003 or something.

Playing Dead Space 2 right now. Pretty great so far, very similar to the first game. Graphics have been slightly bumped up. There's been a few moments that made me go "WHAT THE FUCK?!" already too.

Let me know after you've completed it, if it has more variety than the first game. And personality - is it lonely or are there lots of NPCs to advance the story and cutscenes and stuff.

There’s been “no friend codes” rumors for Nintendo consoles for a while now, and since we’ve seen how they handled the 3DS, I figured there would be no reason for anymore speculation. But I was wrong, because another juicy tid-bit has surfaced.


A few days ago in an episode of The Oddcast from 1Up, Sam Kennedy said that “there won’t be friend codes on the new console,” amidst a discussion of the next Wii. When asked “is that for sure?” Sam responded with a confident “Yes.” He goes onto say that “I think Nintendo has learnt their lesson there,” in reference to the online system.

Variasuit speculates that “the [Nintendo 3DS] eShop channel could in fact be a stepping stone to an account based system Nintendo is looking into with their next console,” going on to say that “with the eShop launching next month, it will be a small glimpse into how Nintendo might work account based systems in the future.”


There’s plenty of reasons for an eShop delay, but it’d make sense that Nintendo wouldn’t want to spill the beans on an account-based system for their consoles if it revealed one of the biggest features of the Wii 2, thereby distracting from the launch of the 3DS.


But aside from that the episode itself has discussion on plenty of topics but the Wii 2 is brought up on a few different occasions. It is important to realise though this episode was recorded before all the rumors about Project Café had made themselves known.


Nevertheless, it’s implied multiple times that Kennedy knows more about the next Wii than he’s willing to share via the podcast. Here’s a few snippets of what he did say:

“Not just like a new controller,” implying that there’s something more to the system than simply a new input device.

It’ll have a “Wii vibe” and high definition graphics, ”plus something,” meaning another feature we’re unaware of.

Apparently Nintendo fans will be like “wow.”
