Welcome to the Jungle, it gets worse here every day.
I'm fairly certain the system will fail (maybe it's a really weak PC with talk of it being Linux based, maybe it's an open platform like the Pandora and its kin, maybe it's a normal platform but they won't secure enough developers, NGage style, or whatever) but from that image I think it looks nice. Matte/rubbery, sturdy looking with a d-pad, 4 shoulder buttons, possibly scroll wheels (I think they could be used for gameplay), a keyboard (making non voice communication intuitive unlike your average console) and it's said to have a touchpad so even though it's not a touch screen you could have DS-like experiences as well as dual analog games if it's opposite of the d-pad. They supposedly will focus on online gaming so if they secure big names (WoW mobile?!) it could be neat if it's coupled with netbook capabilities, but that probably means it can just about run facebook so you can play Farmville.
Edit: oh I missed the teaser video and the website. But it's so dark. There certainly seems to be something opposite of the d-pad though so it seems they at least got the basic design (but, uh, no face buttons?). The MMO they show is Battlestar Galactica online which is supposed to be using the Unity engine (it can do modern 3D actually, but who knows what they use the engine for this project) to play on a browser so I dunno if that means the thing will be like a weak PC that can run that game or if they get an actual port to its own system or what. Ok it looks like more of a failure as a games machine now but it could make for a decent alternative netbook if the specs are surprisingly beefy for its size (we don't know yet, we haven't really seen anything but CG for BSGO, it could be top-down flash-like shit for all we know) since it seems fairly capable interface wise.

Any review that uses Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon as an example of masterpiece is not trust worthy. Also, I imagine it doesn't have a musical number in it, meaning that it doesn't use all of Miike's best elements!
Also, if he was the equivelent to a pulp author, then none of his films would be any good.

Bunch of tech columnists referring to the best set-top box to buy vis-a-vis, best way to get digital content into the living room. They all mentioned the "Xbox Kinnect" Not the "360" or "Xbox" or "Xbox 360", but the "Xbox Kinnect". Like it was a new thing -- not even a console, or a peripheral.
Marketing. At. Work.
It's interesting to hear people who are a little separated from this biz (we are way too close to have any clear view).
