What is the plot of that show, why are they in that same waterfront base for so long and why all the different vehicles.

 I always thought everyday life in Miami also involved cops who took their glasses off to finish off a witty pun and have Roger Daltrey scream "YEAHHH", moralistic serial killers that also double as forensic investigators and other cool things.

Also aspro, get the Broken Steel expansion for your wife - increases the cap and actually attempts to finish the game.

I think no one is answering cause we're not exactly sure what you mean. I didn't see anything any more hammy and over the top macho in the trailers than any other RPG in creation.

You start with your character's humble beginnings; in my case I was a Mage that started out with his initiation rite in the Circle of Mage's tower. You kind of get a dark Harry Potter kind of mood, as there are a lot of young mages in a magic school-type atmosphere talking about this rite and whether or not they'll be able to pass it. It's a lot darker, as you'll find religious zealots around the school and mages dabbling in blood magic. Also, if you don't want to take the rite, you become magically "lobotomized" --or-- if you DO take the rite and fail, you are killed. Can't quite picture Dumbledore "offing" Harry Potter, but I think you get the idea.

Certain characters join your party depending on where you go. I'm assuming you get a variety of members depending on your starting point and choice of races, but the characters I have in my party Alistair (hottie) and Morrigan (hottie... for a woman) constantly insult each other; it can be really funny at times! Alistair is kind of a goofball to begin with, so he is constantly giving Morrigan fodder to abuse him anyway. Morrigan is a sexy but snooty (Witch of the Wild) Mage, who's both tempting and stand-offish at the same time, who is CONSTANTLY pushing you towards the darker or crueler moral choices in the game... Want the woman? Prepare to do some questionable things or spill some blood in the process of getting her! You have approval ratings from each of the characters and what you decide to do will change the way they act towards you. My approval rating with Morrigan actually went DOWN when I fell into the old rpg trappings of going around the first village doing lots of side-quests to help the villagers with their numerous problems!

Overall the game has a VERY Lord of the Rings air to it. Demons from the Underworld, Political Betrayal... blah, blah... BUT the characters come across  as way more human as they all have their quirks and faults, wants and wishes, secret plans and humble beginnings. Hell, I took a side-quest in the first Grey Warden's base specifically so I could get a DOG in my party! [ I named him Puggsworth... only because Mister Pugglesworth wouldn't fit in the name selection box ! ]

Over the top and macho? Yeah, it has it's moments. Don't let that dissuade you from playing this game though! If the overarching story turns you off, the human aspects and freedom of choice within the game play should draw you right back in!

The music, the meolodramatic monologue, the music, and the sex are all extremely over the top and just come across as some sort of stupid summer fantasy blockbuster. Stupid being the operative word. Even if it was like that it's actually something I'd probably enjoy, just not something I'd expect from Bioware. The guy who answered me saw the video.

They pretty much said what you did, though; it can be over the top but it's not really a problem.

If it's over the top I hope it has full on orgies! That'd be icing on the cake.

You know come to think of it The Witcher has a very similar vibe, and I've got that. (Still waiting for a PC to play it on. ) As I said; it's just a weird thing coming from a Bioware game.

I can COMPLETELY assure you the game is NOT as Linkin Park-ish as that horrible, horrible trailer suggests.

Yes, it's a bit over-dramatic in the Lord of the Rings sense, but the game is a lot more FUN than that garbage montage would lead you to believe!

Jamie, thanks for the Broken Steel tip. She's been talking about her dissapointment with the game everyday, so hopefully that will help.  She is knee-deep in Fable 2 just now, so it'll probably take a while.  With Broken Steel will she be able to use the character she used in the main game? Anyone? (RE: Fallout 3)
