GG are you sure Geoff is referring to Nintendo only or to a big game annoucement in general today. Cause there are rumors of a big 360 game being revealed today.
I'm pretty mixed about the Nintendo conference myself. It's pretty mundane stuff but it could be good perhaps. Support for 32 GB cards sounds very nice but could be better if this brings in downloadable game demos and quality videos. Arcade support on VC sounds great but it all depends on what games come out for it. The games that launched with it now are lame. I want kickass 2D games from the '90s. A new DS Zelda is well I don't know it's just not terribly exciting for me. I did enjoy PH when I played it but overall it just just didn't leave me with that same sense of grandness that the traditional console versions do. All in all it was the kind of news that made me say, "Well that's nice." but nothing that made me go "Wow!".
Oh yeah I'm with you. These are the right steps and they are very welcome but they are like baby steps. It's really great that storage is no longer a problem though. The good thing is that now with 32gb they can actually consider demos. I dont really see the point of high quality video when its streaming from the Wii myself. I dont need high quality video of trailers and game stuff. I use PC for that and I never even save it anyway.
Arcade games is great news though, its not what is released right now, it's what could come in the future. Like when the VC was first announced. Every week you could see a great game you used to love appear like VC mondays.
But also, remember that this is no "conference" it's a game developers speech like any other except Nintendo has started using them to slip out small things, like Phantom Hourglass originally or the Wii Virtual console a few years ago. E3 will still be where the big stuff is. Except there is suppossed to be something big today to come...
Yeah I really shouldn't have expected too much out of this. I guess with everyone shouting about "Dropping the bomb!" I was getting hyped. Anyway I need to get a card because I'm all out of space on my Wii so now that this storage thing has been taken care of I can go shopping around to see what I can get and for how much.

That Zelda game looks rad. Yeah, it's different, but hey - it'll still be a fucking Zelda game. It's not like the gameplay will be changed TOO much. God those Zelda fans are dumb.
And it looks like they're sticking with the WW style, which is FANTASTIC. I'm just praying Nintendo learnt from Phantom Hourglass and don't put in a dungeon that's not only timed, but you have to keep going to. That stuff was DUMB.
