So I played about 45 minutes of Dead Space, great visuals, really detailed on par with Mass Effect. Controls are pretty decent. So far I've only faced off against 2 enemies at a time and all the 8 or so bad guys I've killed have been the exact same enemy, the spider human thing.
Getting a little tired with the whole Gordon Freeman non-speaking protagonist though. It seems stupid when everyone is talking to you but there is one guy who stays silent. As well as the fact that everyone else looks normal while you are the only guy wearing some freaking mask. It's like some social ret... deviant sitting in an office with a halloween mask while everyone else is sitting there normally. Minor complaints though.
Great graphics, decent controls, huge, well polished production. But...
Game has no identity whatsoever though. This is Doom 3 with RE4 camera, or Event Horizon, which is Doom 3 with a RE4 camera. It has the menus of Halo. We were talking souless games a couple of weeks back. Where is this games character that it hasn't borrowed from someone else?
I like the objective laser navigator thing though. There isn't much to complain about so far, it's really solid, just not really doing anything original or special so far. I'm barely into it, I'm just measuring it against the start of RE4 in the village, climbling ladders, blocking doors, breaking through windows, running across rooftops, shooting cows.
I'm also starting to think that the movie Aliens was the worst thing to happen to games in the past couple of decades. Before that you had science fiction putting up different concepts for alien worlds/ships/creature designs. Now you have this space marine thing down pat and copied ad nauseum.
Again, I don't hate the game, it's really decent so far, just not doing much for me.
In other news I went to my bros this weekend and he unwrapped Gears 2 a few days before. His verdict? "It's exactly the same as the first game." And he gave me his PSP with 3 games to sell on ebay "I should have listened to you bro"

Hey, that's the Nintendo way! EA is ripping Nintendo and Valve!
I think the disk drive in my Wii may be failing. I turned it on last night, and I noticed a much louder-than-usual hum/grinding noise. It only does it when I have a disk in the drive, so it's not the fan. It still works fine, though. I'll have to call Nintendo soon.
Were you playing a new game? I've noticed some disks are much louder than others, particularly 3rd party discs. Also since I came home and turned my WiiConenct 24/7 on it seems louder too, and discs are actually warm when I take them out.

I was playing Animal Crossing, and it's never made a sound like this before; at least, not as loud. It's weird. It's starting to sound like my 360!
EDIT: I moved my Wii from the horizontal position to the vertical position. It's a bit more quiet now, but it still sounds odd. I tried several disks, and they all sound about the same. Everything works fine, though.
So it looks like TS4 is definitely a PS3/360 game:
That figures. Why make a good FPS for Wii when you can complete with dozens and dozens of other companies FPS on PS3/360?
Because that is where the money is. The audience is there and they can sell it across 3 platforms. On the FR site the poll had PS3 and Wii tied for the console people wanted TS4 for. Putting a big franchise on Wii is seen as the risk at the moment. Unless it's a low end version of a yearly multiplatform game. It's understandable.

Was TS4 announced for Wii? If it was, then I never heard about it.

Can't remember the last time a cartoon / animated film has done that. Good work.
Most people describe this movie as "hilarious", but although it is funny I only really laughed about 4 or 5 times. I would say this movie is "touching" above all else. There is also a strong religious fundamentalist vs atheist underlying message that seems to be there (or I just look into things way too far.) Strangely enough the same character takes on both of these roles. This movie gave me a similar feeling of hope as watching Zeitgeist, albeit considerably more superficial and fleeting.
I played through Sonic Adventure 1 Sonic's story, wow I forgot how awesome that game was. Anyone that says Sonic never had a good 3D game can shove it. Easily the closest game to capturing classic Sonic in 3D, since SA2 they went a different route with him.
However, a few seconds of "OMGWTFBBQ" followed
by "this sucks ass" is probably fine as by that point the "OMGWTFBBQ"
has got someone to buy it.
What?
People see flashy cover. Flashy cover looks good. People buy flashy
cover. People realise flashy cover sucks. But it is too late for people
to do anything about it as people have already bought flashy cover.
Flashy covers are evil.
What?
Do you serously not understand what I'm saying, though?

I was never announced for anything!
True.
I think it's time for a thread.
I guess that's why I never heard about it coming to Wii then.
