I've been spending some time with the Witcher. Admittedly not very much playing it (just wanted to see if it'll run), but more flicking through the instruction manual and installing the game twice. First time the game ran like shit, and all the buttons on the menus were invisible - as was all the text (so I had no idea what I was messing around with in the options menu).
Upon reinstalling, I saw all the text. Runs well enough too.
More thoughts later.
I hope you enjoy the game at least as much as I did.
It's in the Gigi's online thread thingy
YAY!
EDIT - Dvader and Gaminggeek you both have yet to add me to Brawl. Also I added you IGA so add me too please!
I played through Sonic Adventure 1 Sonic's story, wow I forgot how awesome that game was. Anyone that says Sonic never had a good 3D game can shove it. Easily the closest game to capturing classic Sonic in 3D, since SA2 they went a different route with him.
Need to find me PC copy and play that again.
I fucking loved Omega's stages for some reason....
Downloaded Square's new iPhone game (well, the demo of FF Crystal Defenders). Will post thoughts later.
Now I will focus a bit more on trophy collecting in Brawl! I just got a trophy of the Hotel Dusk guy! I will also start saving, for my next game, World of Goo!
So it looks like TS4 is definitely a PS3/360 game:
That figures. Why make a good FPS for Wii when you can complete with dozens and dozens of other companies FPS on PS3/360?
Because that is where the money is. The audience is there and they can sell it across 3 platforms. On the FR site the poll had PS3 and Wii tied for the console people wanted TS4 for. Putting a big franchise on Wii is seen as the risk at the moment. Unless it's a low end version of a yearly multiplatform game. It's understandable.
Timesplitters isn't a big franchise though. Timesplitters 3 bombed hard. 65,000 across 3 platforms? Maybe making it exclusive to one and really hyping it as a game that pushes its platform would be a better idea.

However, a few seconds of "OMGWTFBBQ" followed by "this sucks ass" is probably fine as by that point the "OMGWTFBBQ" has got someone to buy it.
What?
People see flashy cover. Flashy cover looks good. People buy flashy cover. People realise flashy cover sucks. But it is too late for people to do anything about it as people have already bought flashy cover.
Flashy covers are evil.
What?
Do you serously not understand what I'm saying, though?

That's why Sonic Adventure was well recieved. It wasn't amazing like some of the N64 platformers, but they took a lot of good ideas and made a solid game. And it was quite the looker at the time too. It was nice having a solid Sonic on the Dreamcast on day 1 too, because like Mario with a Nintendo platform, it just kind of made the Dreamcast feel like home, you know?
Since then Sonic has just gotten worse and worse, and even the few bright spots have just felt irrelevant. They need to let EAD or Rare take a stab at Sonic. Just totally reinvent that shit. Get rid of the Motley Crew soundtrack.

Tokyo EAD (makes of Galaxy and DK Jungle Beat) could make an awesome Sonic game, but I rather have them make Super Mario Universe.

How are you doing with the challenge boxes? I've broken all of them open except the one that requires me to beat Boss Battles on Intense mode.

Dvader playing old games? Something is wrong here? Run out of new releases? Or giving Edge a chance to catch up?

So played a couple more hours of Dead Space, did these guys have a cube and RE4 hooked up next door to their PCs? WTF man, so much is ripped it's obscene. Works well though. The enemies though, I feel like I'm fighting the same spiderman guy again and again. Not sure I like the gravity free sections. I like the telekinises, but I would have preferred a whole game around that. I just beat the boss that runs at you and you shoot him in the ass.
Those Boom Blox codes are great, I can't beat some of the challenge missions. What a great christmas present, they've just unlocked 25% of the game for me.
Monster Hunter 3 looks great, hope they have Wii Speak. I have flu like symptons at the moment. Not too bad at the moment though. Hope I'm not sick for the second Christmas in a row.
Now I will focus a bit more on trophy collecting in Brawl! I just got a trophy of the Hotel Dusk guy! I will also start saving, for my next game, World of Goo!

Just collected my Meta Ridley trophy. Most.annoying.trophy ever. Most of the time after making a trophy out of him, the trophy falls down in the abyss. Then you have to do the level all over again, and it is a long level.
I am planning to make all the bosses trophies and learn their patterns while I am at it. Then I will use that knowledge to try to beat the Boss Battles. Still have a lot challenge boxes open, but I will have them all eventually. Will peobably take a few months, but I shall have them all!
Microsoft has had the attention of core gamers with franchises like Halo and Gears of War, but it's now trying new ways to capture the female market.
Over a recent weekend, the company commissioned a service called House Party to send free Xbox 360 packages, valued at around $150, to 1,000 women across the U.S. who agreed to invite at least 10 friends or relatives over for a party, a USA Today report said.
Microsoft's director of interactive entertainment business global platforms Heather Snavely said, "We've sold 20 million consoles to date globally since we launched three years ago.
"In order to get to the next 20 million, we need to get a new audience of women and teens. We're going after them in ways that are different than ways we've done before."
The packages included Scene It? Box Office Smash, an Xbox 360 universal remote, three months of Xbox Live and $20 worth of Microsoft Points.
House Party has a database of 100K people who offer themselves up as "brand advocates," the report said. Marketers from Kmart, Fisher-Price Kraft and numerous other companies have used the service.
The funny thing about consoles are, these guys spend 4 or 5 years painstakingly trying to grow their userbase as large as possible.......only to throw it away the following year by releasing new hardware and starting the whole process over again.
In a way, it seems self defeating.
So my brother just got a PS3, and just experienced online gaming for the first time ever with Call of Duty 4. He's all amazed and shit, which is hilarious to me because he's just now getting the feeling I got playing Quake 3 8 years back on Dreamcast.
He's talking to me about all the different game modes and shit, acting like they're all revolutionary. Has no clue that FPS's have been doing the same modes with different names for 10 years. But if I try to explain this to him, he gets all pissed like I'm lying to him or something. Like it can't possibly NOT be revolutionary if he's never seen it.
In another dimension, another time and space, A parallel universe was fallin' on its face When out of the chaos, who else could it be But the animal adventurers from S.P.A.C.E.?
Bucky! Captain Bucky O'Hare! Mutants and aliens and toads beware! You're looking for adventure? Well, this is it, With Jenny, Deadeye, Blinky, and Willy DuWitt

In the battle of the aniverse, you don't know what's next, You only know amphibians have made it KOMPLEX! When you check out your scanner and the evil that it bodes, There's only one course of action: Let's croak us some toads!
Bucky! Captain Bucky O'Hare! He goes where no ordinary rabbit would dare! If your Righteous Indignation has suffered a hit And your photon accelerator's broken a bit And you're losing your mind, and you're having a fit Get the funky fresh rabbit who can take care of it!

Welcome to my world. Now you know how I felt while I was in the GGD.
"Dencore be quiet Bioshock is an innovative revolution."
"Call of Duty 4 is amazing it's so fresh and new."
"Xbox Live is amazing, we shouldn't care if we paid for online."
"Oblivion is a revolution!"
To put this in persepctive imagine if people really brought that hype by GTA IV as being ultra revolutionary prophet. Imagine if people thought that Kameo was as good and epic as Banjo Kazooie or Mario 64. Normally I wouldn't care but the fact that people flamed the Wii because "casuals don't know better" is just ridiculous.

Bucky O'Hare Lyrics
In another dimension, another time and space,
A parallel universe was fallin' on its face
When out of the chaos, who else could it be
But the animal adventurers from S.P.A.C.E.?
Bucky! Captain Bucky O'Hare!
Mutants and aliens and toads beware!
You're looking for adventure? Well, this is it,
With Jenny, Deadeye, Blinky, and Willy DuWitt
I said Bucky! Captain Bucky O'Hare!
“And now, an update on Bucky O'Hare and the Toad Wars!”
In the battle of the aniverse, you don't know what's next,
You only know amphibians have made it KOMPLEX!
When you check out your scanner and the evil that it bodes,
There's only one course of action: Let's croak us some toads!
Bucky! Captain Bucky O'Hare!
He goes where no ordinary rabbit would dare!

And your photon accelerator's broken a bit
And you're losing your mind, and you're having a fit
Get the funky fresh rabbit who can take care of it!
