 God forbid a hacker with Linux and extensive knowledge of cracking somehow gets within 10 feet of your walls. FYI, WPA is not 100% secure, no security measure is foolproof. If someone really wants to hack your system and has the time and resources, they'll do it.

That being said, any secured network will deter 99.9999999% of people.

I would consider myself a relatively computer-wise and geeky person, and I can't even get my wireless card to work in Linux, let alone try and put it into monitor mode and crack into WEP-secured networks (I've read up on it and tried numerous programs, nothing works in Windows (or with my wireless card.)

People have this weird delusion that they are special enough for some reason that hackers would want to specifically seek them out and target them. Unless you're doing online banking or shopping, saying WEP isn't enough is overkill. Or unless you live in a 50-story apartment where the majority of occupants are computer experts, and for some odd reason there is no unsecured network available to readily use.

It depends on what you mean when you say 100%.  If it's encryption, naturally brute-force is theoretically possible, aside from encryption not protecting against physical tampering with your unit.

However, with WPA or WPA2 standards, IPSec and a re-keying period of 10 minutes, to my knowledge on a practical basis you're basically down to only zero-day vulnerabilities.

Though if your neighbour just wants to be a dick, he can DoS your Wi-Fi anytime he wants if you're running WPA.

And that's what there last couple games sold before Haze. So as you can see, they've been on the brink of death for most of their existence. Now Doak is basically going to reform them under a different name, and the same thing will happen.

You mean they got the scores they deserved? Though I did found Future Perfect a bit boring it was still solid.

Timesplitters was far from overrated.

I'd argue that the sequel is easily the best first person shooter of the decade. Or at least one of the better.

The best shooter of the decade? A game with mediocre controls, no online mode, and horrible single-player? In what way?

The intention is, going forwards, that hopefully the skeleton crew can shock things back to life in the new year and things can ramp back up from there. But they are *not* out of business."

Free Radical went into administration on December 18. Administration is a process in the UK that a company which has become insolvent can choose instead of liquidation to continue running the business. The administration company acts in the interest of creditors and attempts to rescue its charge. ReSolve, the administration company tasked with rescuing Free Radical commented that it was "very confident" that a buyer could be found for the business if a decision is made to sell.

Officially, Free Radical Design is currently working on two games--TimeSplitters 4, and a secret LucasArts project rumored to be Star Wars Battlefront III (and also rumored to have been turned over to other UK dev Rebellion instead). However, our source implies that there may be more projects underway which have not yet been announced. They told 1up, "There's a number of cool projects in development--two of which are getting quite a lot of publisher interest already." It is not known if TimeSplitters 4, which the company has been working on for over a year, is one of these.

From the sound of it the fat lady hasn't even gotten out of bed yet for Free Radical, much less started to sing.

I'm not saying they were horrible in every way, but there's no way in hell any of them deserved over an 8/10. And a 9.1 average for T2 is just insane, I'm sorry. That reaks of the gaming fanboy press putting on the goggles and pretending it was what PD64 was 2 years earlier.

When you had games offering better multi-player only play years before T2 (PD64, Quake 3 dreamcast and Unreal dreamcast) I fail to see how anyone in their right mind could give the game anything even close to 9/10.

Here's another example of how dilusional the press is on TS. This is what IGN says in the Free Radical article:

"studio was also hard at work on TimeSplitters 4, the much anticipated installment in the shooter franchise. "

Much anticipated? When Timesplitter's 3 sold 60 thousand across 3 different platforms and completely flopped, how exactly is T4 "much anticipated" by anyone except these crazies?

I loved Eternal Darkness to death and would love a sequel, but considering it only sold like 250,000 copies (which is much more than T3, but still a flop for a major exclusive game) I'd never say that it would be "much anticipated".

It just felt right. The feel of the weapons, the pacing of matches. It had some personality, a quirky atmosphere and some semblance of an identity - which most shooters struggle to even achieve nowadays.

As well as that, there was a metric fucktonne of stuff to do in place of the online stuff. I'll gladly admit that the single-player is a little disappointing, but the challenges and arcade modes make up for that. There's also loads of multiplayer modes that were all fun.

I guess it's also probably me being close minded. I haven't touched Halo MP in a while (something about that game just didn't work for me), and I haven't really touched CoD multiplayer since CoD2 (I've played a little of CoD4 MP).

Such beauty, yet such destruction!
