Seriously, if Zelda uses Wii Motion Plus and has visuals as good as say Monster Hunter 3, I think people will be wowed.
I'm hoping for a return to cel-shading for the next Zelda along with MotionPlus support. That sorta-realistic look of Twilight Princess just doesn't look nearly as nice to me as Wind Waker's cel-shaded world. That was like a cartoon coming alive! IGN recently had an article about what they'd like to see in a new Zelda, and even they think Zelda should return to cel-shading; they just don't want child Link to return. I honestly don't care if it's child or adult Link, I just want more Celda!
I'm sure most of you guys will disagree with me on this, though.
I will disagree, not that I don't love the cel shaded WW style. But the monumental amount of bitching about it and now having this turn around of people wanting zelda to go back to it annoys me in general. TP outsold WW by a good amount and people seem to be settled on the realistic style. In Twilight Princess' defence in relation to art style, the graphics weren't even the best visuals on gamecube. If they had been as good as RE4 in the same style that it had we wouldn't complain. Thankfully it was developed on cube hardware so a new engine and using the Wii hardware should allow it to improve much in the same way that prime 3 or mario galaxy got a visual boost.
I have feeling that nintendo might shock everyone by doing some crazy ass zelda concept like four swords on GC or a top down Phantom Hourglass style game controlled via IR.
I never complained about cel-shading in Zelda WW. In fact, I was absolutely blown away by the style when I first saw it. I agree that a new realistic Zelda on Wii will most likely look a ton better than TP, but I really don't like that dark look as much in Zelda games.
"Here's something you probably didn't know: Twilight Princess, for all of its hype, sold worse than The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. Well, kind of, anyway. Wind Waker outsold the Wii version of Twilight Princess by about 30,000 units, believe it or not, but of course that doesn't account for all of the gamers who bought TP on GameCube, some 900,000, if you're counting." --Matt C
That's kind of surprising. So it took the combined sales of TP on GC and Wii to beat Wind Waker's sales.
I never complained either, I'm talking about the general internet bitching and then people turning around post-TP and wanting a return to WW visuals. Seems like whatever option they choose, they fail. We all wanted a realistic zelda, they gave it to us. Then we complain. The circle of life. I don't really think much of those IGN figures. The game sold across two platforms by the same hardware maker, I take its total sales, not wii vs GC into account.
To be honest, I really don't care about sales numbers or what the Zelda fan base wants in general. I only care about what I want, and I want a new Celda! And since I am the center of the universe, and the world revolves around me alone, then Nintendo will follow my wishes.
Oh, and Nintendo, I DEMAND you to make a new Pilotwings for Wii!

I agree, I would like different looking games with bold art styles in general. But when you have a huge franchise like Zelda you can't as easily just go off and do something radically different, visually, like you can with a new franchise.
Or hey! Maybe we could get Skylock to make something for us!
And I have to say that it SUCKS right now to not have a 360! All the awesome games already out and coming up have me giggling gleefully like a little kid again. I am HIGHLY tempted to do something with this Wii so I can acquire some moolah and get an Xbox 360 Jasper if the failure rate is low enough. The overwhelming majority of quality games it looks like the Wii is getting either aren't to my tastes or, if they are, I'm of the "I'm only interested in getting them because I don't have a console that will play the better stuff" mentality. !@#$
I just beat Ridley in Zero Missions. Not anything special you might say, but I did it only with 1 energy tank, 5 missiles.
I had in my inventory 1 ice beam, one plasma beam (I can't use it yet), Varia suit , Gravity suit (can't use this either), bombs, powergrip and morphball. So no long beam, no high jump boots, heck I even haven't beat Kraid yet. I am aiming for 15% completion, with 1 energy tank, 1 missile tank, 4 super missile tanks and screw attack. So much fun!
Already did. It's still questionable for me though, I'll need to let you know a little later.
We might also need to set up an opening theme and how many people we'll be having on the podcast.
I'll edit in intro music afterward. I doubt we'll end up with more than enough people available, either, but 3 to 5 is what I'm looking for, 4 being optimal.

No they are not, they suck in predicting numbers, but they always correct them if the official financial statements are released.
Here is more proof!
The Best selling Zelda titles!
Official info, Twilight GG and Wii version combined will probably be the 2nd best selling Zelda game in the future.
You can't spell ignorant without IGN.
I interrupt this Zelda talk with Star Wars info, look above for article:
That was awesome.
I say we still find a way to use the old Capcom SNES jingle, you know, the one they play over their logo?

We could use the MGS "Game Over" tune, ne?

It definately seems that they are going for a style > tech apporach ala Team Fortress 2.
One of the site's forefathers.
That's ironic listing VGcharts.
But yeah it is common knowledge that Twlight Princess raped Windwaker in sales.

If the style they are looking after is the ass style, then they're right on track!

Shoot, I didn't even know what Skype was until I looked it up just now.
Bongo Bop wins it...
Tomb Raider Underworld (Wii) images. IGN also has a hands-on too.
Looking good!
